Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition: A Cosmetic Upgrade Or More?

54 sec read

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a special edition of their Fronx crossover, the Velocity Edition. Available across all trims, starting at ₹7.29 lakh (ex-showroom), let’s see what sets it apart from the standard Fronx

Sportier Looks, Same Features:

The Fronx Velocity Edition focuses primarily on cosmetic enhancements. The base Sigma variant receives a splash of red and black accents on the front bumper, headlamps, grille, and wheel arches. Higher trims Delta, Delta+, and Delta+(O) get a more extensive makeover with red side body cladding, a rear spoiler with red trim, door visors, and red designer floor mats. Illuminated door sills and rear bumper with a red garnish.

For the top-of-the-line Delta+ Turbo variant, the focus also shifts to the interior with black seat covers and a carbon fiber-style interior styling kit. The Zeta and Alpha variants receive Bordeaux-colored seat covers.

Engine Choices Remain Unchanged:

The Fronx Velocity Edition maintains the standard Fronx’s engine options. You can choose between a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter or a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki also offers a CNG option with the 1.2-litre engine.

Verdict: A Visual Refresh

The Fronx Velocity Edition is essentially the standard Fronx with a sportier aesthetic package. While it doesn’t offer any additional features or performance upgrades, the visual enhancements might appeal to buyers seeking a more distinct look. The starting price remains attractive, making it a potential option for those who prioritize aesthetics.
