Maruti Suzuki has shared full specifications of the e Vitara, which marks the brand’s entry into the electric segment. The model offers two battery choices, a 49 kWh pack and a larger 61 kWh unit, both paired with a front mounted motor. The bigger battery delivers an ARAI rated range of 543 KM, while the smaller pack returns 344 KM. Power output stands at 144 PS for the 49 kWh version and 174 PS for the 61 kWh option. Torque remains the same for both at 192.5 NM. These numbers place the e Vitara in a competitive position among electric SUVs. Production has already started at the company’s Gujarat facility, which indicates that the model is on track for its early 2026 launch.

Charging Network & Ownership Plans

Maruti Suzuki has focused heavily on charging support to ease first time EV adoption. The company has already integrated over 2,000 charging points across more than 1,100 cities. It has also partnered with 13 charging point operators to widen access through the “e For Me” app, which helps users locate and pay for fast chargers. The goal is to set up over 1 lakh charging stations by 2030, including many placed every 5 to 10 km in major cities. Buyers will also get access to 1,500 EV ready workshops and doorstep service. The e-Vitara can be purchased outright or through subscription. A Battery-as-a-Service model will also be offered, which may reduce upfront cost by separating the price of the battery pack from the vehicle.

Design, Dimensions, & Cabin Technology

The e-Vitara draws inspiration from the eVX concept and uses clean lines, Y shaped lighting elements and prominent wheel arch cladding. It measures 4,275 MM in length, 1,800 MM in width and 1,640 MM in height. The cabin features a dual tone theme with a mix of soft touch areas and textured surfaces. A 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 10.1-inch infotainment unit form the main interface. Higher variants add ventilated seats, a 10 way power adjustable driver seat, wireless charging and an upgraded sound system. A fixed glass roof and ambient lighting further add to the cabin experience. These features help the SUV match the expectations set by rivals in this segment.

Safety Ratings, ADAS, & Market Context

The e-Vitara has secured a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP tests. Standard safety equipment includes seven airbags, a 360 degree camera, parking sensors, an electronic parking brake and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The SUV also offers Level 2 ADAS, which adds adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane keep assist. When it arrives, it will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv.ev. Maruti enters this space later than some rivals, yet the company aims to offset that delay with a wide charging network and a feature rich product. Bookings are expected to open soon, while deliveries are scheduled for 2026.
