The company will ship the first batches of the e-Vitara to Europe and Japan, while it is likely to begin domestic sales at a later stage. Suzuki has scheduled the e-Vitara’s launch for 3rd September. What This Means For India’s EV Roadmap

The start of e-Vitara production is a big step in India’s EV roadmap. Maruti Suzuki plans to manufacture 70,000 units of e-VITARA in FY26, with the majority of the production planned for exports. For the brand, this step could help it gain ground in the electric vehicle race. Competitors have already introduced models for buyers in a segment where Maruti seems to have started late. The success of the e-Vitara, both in exports and future domestic sales, will showcase India’s contribution in the global EV landscape.
