Maruti Suzuki has crossed a major export milestone with the Fronx. The compact SUV has now recorded more than 2 lakh exports in less than 38 months since shipments began in June 2023.
According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the Fronx has reached the 2 lakh-unit mark faster than any other SUV. The model is manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat and currently reaches nearly 90 countries.
Maruti Fronx Reaches 2 Lakh Export Milestone
Maruti Suzuki started exporting the Fronx in June 2023. The SUV crossed 1 lakh exports in July 2025, taking around 25 months to reach the first milestone.
The Fronx has now doubled that figure in less than 38 months. This makes it the fastest SUV to cross both the 1 lakh and 2 lakh export milestones, according to SIAM.

The Fronx has maintained a steady export run since international shipments began. Maruti Suzuki manufactures the SUV at its Hansalpur plant in Gujarat before shipping it to overseas markets.

Maruti Suzuki’s passenger vehicle exports have increased over the past few years, although the pace has varied. Shipments grew by more than 140 percent in 2021 compared with 2020.
Export growth then slowed to around 28 percent in 2022 and just over 2 percent in 2023. However, shipments increased by more than 21 percent in 2024 and continued to grow at a similar rate in 2025.
Maruti Fronx Manufacturing In India
Maruti Suzuki produces the Fronx at its Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The plant has also become an important production location for the company’s export operations.
Along with the Fronx, Maruti Suzuki manufactures the e Vitara electric SUV at the same facility. The company started exporting the e Vitara from India in 2025, adding another model to its growing international portfolio.
