Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx has crossed the 4 lakh sales mark in the domestic market, becoming the first SUV sold through the Nexa channel to achieve this milestone. Launched in April 2023, the Fronx has recorded cumulative wholesales of 4,09,817 units by the end of November 2025. This means the compact SUV reached the landmark in about 32 months. The pace of sales highlights how quickly the Fronx found acceptance in a crowded compact SUV segment that includes more than 20 competing models. The last 1 lakh units alone were sold in just eight months, underlining a strong and consistent demand curve.
| Sales Milestone | Time Taken From Launch (approx) |
|---|---|
| 1 lakh units | 10 months |
| 2 lakh units | 17 months |
| 3 lakh units | 23 months |
| 4 lakh units | 32 months |
How The Fronx Built Sales Momentum

The Fronx showed strong traction right from launch. It took around 10 months to cross the 1 lakh sales mark, followed by faster gains thereafter. The 2 lakh milestone came up in roughly 17 months, while 3 lakh units were achieved a little over 23 months from launch. By comparison, reaching 4 lakh units took another nine months, taking the total timeline to 32 months. This improving run rate reflects steady monthly dispatches rather than reliance on seasonal peaks. In its first full financial year, FY2024, the Fronx sold 1,34,735 units with an average of over 11,000 units a month. FY2025 saw sales rise to 1,66,216 units, a year-on-year growth of about 23 percent.
Current Fiscal Performance & Nexa Rankings

In the first eight months of FY2026, from April to November 2025, the Fronx sold 1,08,866 units. This puts its average monthly sales at over 13,600 units, which is the strongest run rate so far. During this period, it also emerged as the best-selling Nexa model, ahead of the Baleno and the Grand Vitara. The Fronx sold 6,220 units more than the Baleno and over 50,000 units more than the Grand Vitara in the same timeframe. While the Grand Vitara competes in a higher segment, the numbers show how firmly the Fronx has established itself within Nexa’s portfolio. If this trend continues, the Fronx is on track to cross 1,75,000 units in FY2026.
Positioning & Powertrains

The Fronx operates in the highly competitive compact SUV space, where buyers weigh style, efficiency, and pricing closely. It draws heavily from the Baleno in terms of dimensions, with a length of 3,995 MM, width of 1,765 MM, and height of 1,550 MM, but adopts a more SUV-like stance. Powertrain options include a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine producing 89 HP and 113 NM, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 100 HP and 147 NM. A CNG version followed shortly after launch, offering 76 HP and 98 NM with a claimed efficiency of 28.51 KM/KG. With five trims and a wide mix of manual and automatic variants, pricing starts at ₹6.85 lakh and goes up to ₹11.98 lakh, ex-showroom. This broad spread has helped the Fronx appeal to both value-focused and feature-seeking buyers.
The steady reduction in time taken to add each successive lakh highlights how the Fronx moved from a strong launch performer to a consistently high-volume model. This pattern explains why it now stands as the highest-selling Nexa SUV to date.
