Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition Launched

Mahindra recently launched a limited dark edition of their XUV 700 named the EBONY edition. This special edition will replace the existing Napoli dark edition of the SUV. It brings an all-black interior & exterior design. All the features, engine specs, looks, and appeal will remain the same as the regular XUV700. It will be based on the 7-seater top-spec AX7 and AX7L variants of the car. The prices for the ebony edition will start from ₹ 19.64 lakh and go up to ₹ 24.14 lakh, about Rs. 15,000 more expensive than the regular variants.

Exterior Changes

The design will be the same as the regular model, with the main differentiation being the all-black theme. Starting from the front, the grille will feature black inserts, blacked-out alloy wheels, ORVMs and roof rails coloured in black, and door handles with chrome inserts on them. Skid plates will be offered in a greyish-silver finish, and to let people know that it is a different edition, there’s an EBONY badge right below the ORVMs and on the tailgate.

Interior Changes

Like the exterior, the interior comes with an all-black theme. Designing and layout will be the same as the regular model. The interior will be black-themed, unlike the regular variant which gets a cream-beige interior. It’ll feature an all-black dashboard with dark chrome around the AC vents and piano-black finishing on the centre console and door handles. Seats and door pads will have black faux leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching on them. The only thing that remains the same will be the roof liner, which is light grey.

Powertrain Options

Being a purely cosmetic edition, Mahindra will offer the same powertrain options present in the regular XUV700. These include a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine producing 200 PS and 380 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission, or a 6-speed torque converted automatic transmission. Petrol variants will only be available in FWD. It also comes with a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine producing 185 PS and 450 Nm of torque, once again available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions. Mahindra will offer both FWD and AWD options with the diesel.

Pricing & Deliveries

All the variants have a price difference of ₹ 15,000 compared to the regular variant, with only the AX7 diesel AT variant having a difference of ₹ 10,500. Bookings are now available for this edition, and deliveries should begin soon.
