The Mahindra XUV 7XO has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. It scored 30.76 out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test and 44.97 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) test. Bharat NCAP tested the 7-seater AX7 diesel-automatic in both FWD and AWD configurations, while the 5-star rating applies across the XUV 7XO range.
Adult Occupant Protection
The XUV 7XO scored 14.76 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a full 16 out of 16 points in the side-movable deformable barrier test.
In the frontal test, the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet received good protection, while the chest and tibia received adequate protection. Meanwhile, all critical areas of the co-driver received good protection except the tibiae, which were rated adequate. The SUV also received an ‘OK’ verdict in the side pole impact test.
Child Occupant Protection

The XUV 7XO scored 44.97 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The test used rearward-facing child seats for both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies.
The 18-month-old dummy scored 7.97 out of 8 points in the frontal crash, while the 3-year-old dummy achieved a full 8 out of 8. Both scored 4 out of 4 points in the side crash test. As a result, the dynamic child protection score stood at 23.97 out of 24 points.
Additionally, the SUV achieved 12 out of 12 points for CRS installation. However, it lost four points in the vehicle assessment section, resulting in the overall COP score of 44.97 points.
Safety Features
Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages.
Higher variants additionally get a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Therefore, safety equipment varies depending on the variant, despite the 5-star Bharat NCAP rating applying across the range.
XUV 7XO Vs XUV700 Safety Rating

The XUV 7XO’s result builds on the safety credentials of the pre-facelift XUV700. The earlier model was tested by Global NCAP in 2021 and received a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection, but scored four stars for child occupant protection.
With the XUV 7XO, Mahindra has retained the 5-star adult protection rating while improving the child occupant protection result under Bharat NCAP testing.
Prices In India
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 25.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

The XUV 7XO has achieved strong scores in both Bharat NCAP occupant protection tests. Moreover, its full score in the side-movable barrier test and near-perfect dynamic child protection score contribute to its overall 5-star rating. The result also represents an improvement over the XUV700’s earlier 4-star child occupant protection rating.
