Mahindra has revealed the Vision S SUV concept, the latest addition to its Vision series of prototypes, during Independence Day celebrations. The production model is expected to join the Mahindra Scorpio line-up, positioning itself as a compact SUV measuring under four metres in length. The Vision S is underpinned by Mahindra’s new NU_IQ modular monocoque platform, designed to accommodate a range of powertrains including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric options.
Distinctive Exterior Features & Off-Road Focus
The Vision S concept features prominent design cues, such as inverted L-shaped LED headlights flanked by Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo and vertically stacked light triplets. The bumper houses radar units and parking sensors, with pixel-shaped fog lamps reminiscent of the Hyundai Nexo. Limb risers and roof-mounted lights on the bonnet add to its rugged appearance, though these details may not reach production.
A high stance reveals substantial side cladding, star-inspired 19-inch alloy wheels, red brake callipers, and functional disc brakes. Unique touches include a kerbside roof ladder and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, cues shared with Mahindra’s Bolero Neo. Cameras replace traditional outside mirrors, and the SUV features side steps and flush-fitting door handles for convenience and style. The rear maintains the L-shaped theme with tail-lamp clusters and a set of pixel lights, plus a jerry can for added practicality.
Interior & Cabin Technology

Inside, the Vision S introduces a blend of digital and physical controls, reflected in its dual-screen dashboard setup. The steering wheel is newly designed with “VISION S” badging at the centre and integrates a digital driver’s display with fresh graphics. The central touchscreen is powered by Mahindra’s NU UX interface, delivering wireless connectivity and a modern user experience. Dual-tone trim highlights the dashboard, seats, and door panels, while a panoramic sunroof and substantial rear grab handles improve accessibility and comfort.
Chassis, Dimensions, & Powertrain Option
It is Built on a 2,665 MM wheelbase, 5 MM longer than the XUV 3XO. The platform supports both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, adaptable to various powertrains. While specific engine details are unrevealed, the concept displays a fuel cap, suggesting an ICE variant, with potential options including Mahindra’s 1.2-litre turbo petrol or 1.5-litre diesel engines. Variable-ratio steering aims for improved handling despite the tall stance.
Launch Timeline

The Vision S concept previews Mahindra’s next step in the Scorpio SUV family, with a production model targeted for a 2027 launch. It debuted alongside other Vision concepts, T, SXT, and X, each built on the NU_IQ platform, shaping the brand’s future SUV portfolio. Further details and features will be disclosed as Mahindra approaches the production debut, with adjustments possible before the final launch.
