Mahindra has opened pre-bookings for the upcoming XUV 7XO at a token amount of ₹21,000, ahead of its official debut scheduled for January 5, 2026. The XUV 7XO is essentially a face lifted and rebranded version of the XUV700 and will sit in the same midsize SUV space. Prices are expected to be announced in early January, either on the debut day or shortly after. With pre-bookings now live, Mahindra has started gauging early demand while gradually revealing details through teasers. The approach mirrors recent launches from the brand, where feature highlights precede full specifications and pricing.

Triple-Screen Layout Takes Centre Stage

The latest teaser focuses on the interior and confirms a major layout change. The XUV 7XO will feature a triple-screen setup that includes a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated passenger display. This makes it the first internal combustion engine model from Mahindra to use a three-screen configuration. The layout was earlier seen only on the brand’s electric SUVs like the XEV 9e and the XEV 9S. The cabin also introduces a new dual-tone beige and black colour theme, which replaces the darker interiors of the XUV700. A new two-spoke steering wheel with the Twin Peaks logo further differentiates the cabin from the outgoing model.

Feature Additions Focus On Comfort & Tech

Mahindra has also updated the centre console by removing physical climate control buttons. All HVAC functions now operate through the touchscreen interface. The redesigned console includes touch-capacitive controls for drive modes, camera functions, and other shortcuts. New comfort features include ambient lighting across the dashboard and door pads, along with a powered Boss mode. This function allows rear passengers to electrically slide and recline the front co-driver seat. The audio system also sees an upgrade, with a Harman Kardon setup replacing the earlier Sony unit. Several existing features from the XUV700, such as the panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS, are likely to continue.

Familiar Powertrains To Continue

On the mechanical front, the XUV 7XO will retain the current XUV700 engine lineup. This includes a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 200 HP, 380 NM and a 2.2-litre diesel engine with an output of 185 HP, 450 NM. Both engines should be offered with manual and automatic transmission options. Select diesel variants may also continue with an all-wheel-drive option. With the focus clearly on interior upgrades and technology, Mahindra appears to be refining the XUV700 formula rather than altering its core mechanical strengths. The full picture will become clearer once prices and variant details are announced in January.
