The range topping AX7 and AX7 L variants of the XUV700 have received a price cut for both powertrain options. Mahindra has stated that the price reduction is to celebrate the SUV’s third anniversary and also the two lakh units production milestone of the vehicle. This move has come right after the introduction of two new colors and a new mid spec ‘AX5 Select’ trim. It is to be noted that these revised prices will be only applicable till November 10, 2024. The biggest drop in price is if of ₹2.2 lakh, which is for the AX7 (D) AT 7 and the least is ₹1.5 lakh, for the AX7 L (D) MT 7. These prices are sure to attract more consumers to upgrade to these higher trims.
All these trims remain mechanically unchanged, so you still get the same 200 HP 2L turbo petrol engine or a 185 HP 2.2L turbo diesel engine. Both these engines can be opted with either a six speed manual or a six speed automatic gearbox. The diesel automatic variants also get the option of an All Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
The main focus for the AX7 and AX7 L trims is that they come loaded with features such as a panoramic sunroof, Level two ADAS suite, wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, one year free Adrenox subscription, TPMS, full LED lighting, 18 inch alloys, leatherette upholstery, powered driver seat and six airbags in total including curtain airbags that reach till the third row.
The L variant, short for ‘Luxury Pack’ adds on even more features on top such as Sony 3D audio system, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, blind-view monitor, adaptive cruise control, wireless charging and rear LED sequential turn indicators.
The XUV 700 faces tough competition from likes of the Tata Harrier and Safari twins, its own stable mate the Scorpio N, the MG Hector and Hector Plus pair, the Toyota Innova Crysta and Hycross duo and lastly the Hyundai Alcazar.
