Mahindra has reduced prices on the base automatic variants of the Scorpio-N. It’s part of a broader strategy of offering targeted discounts and mid-model updates across its lineup. This is following IMCR updates earlier this year, which saw some safety additions to the Scorpio-N.
Price Adjustments

In May 2025, Mahindra reduced the prices of key automatic variants of the Scorpio N by up to Rs 49,000. The Z2 E and Z4 E trims, both manual variants equipped with safety features like ESP, saw introductory pricing of Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 15.77 lakh, respectively.
Among automatic variants, the Z8 AT (7‑seater) dropped by Rs 23,000 to Rs 19.06 Lakh, while higher-spec Z8 AT and Z8 L AT variants saw reductions between Rs 19,000 and Rs 20,000. Mahindra also removed variants without ESP.
Standard Equipment

Alongside pricing changes, Mahindra has standardised safety features on entry-level variants. The Z2 E and Z4 E now include stability control, hill‑hold, and descent assist, available at a small premium over the base variants. Meanwhile, IMCR updates earlier in the year saw cost-cutting moves like removing cooled gloveboxes from Z4 and Z6 trims and downgrading the infotainment system.
Market Positioning

The Scorpio N is positioned in a segment crowded with rivals such as the Tata Harrier/Safari, Hyundai Creta/Alcazar, and the company’s own XUV700. While rivals offer better feature sets and more comfortable monocoque platforms, the Scorpio N is the only true SUV with its ladder-frame build and diesel 4×4 options. It offers a 7-seater option and a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine that makes 200 BHP.
Conclusion

The Scorpio N offers a good proposition for those who want a ladder-on-frame chassis and intend to take their car off-roading. It isn’t the most comfortable for urban dwellers, however. The car is safe and powerful, though it lacks some features such as a panoramic sunroof and ADAS that are expected at its price point.
