Mahindra has just made the Scorpio-N more accessible by adding an automatic option to its mid-range Z4 variant. Priced at ₹17.39 Lakh (Ex-Showroom), this new trim gives buyers a chance to enjoy the convenience of an automatic without going all the way up to the pricier Z6 or Z8 versions. It’s a smart move that adds more value to the SUV’s lineup and gives buyers more flexibility.

Sweet Spot For Buyers
By bringing in the automatic gearbox for the Z4 trim, Mahindra provides convenience for the buyers who want ease of driving, especially in city traffic, but don’t want to stretch their budget too far.
You can get this new trim with either a petrol or diesel engine. The petrol model features a 2.0-LITRE turbo mSTALLION engine making 203 HP and 370 NM of torque, while the diesel version runs on a 2.2-LITRE mHAWK engine that delivers 132 HP and up to 300 NM of torque. Both come mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Good Features, Fair Price
Even though this isn’t the top-end trim, the Z4 automatic still offers a good set of features for the price. It comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with fabric upholstery, power windows, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED tail-lamps, LED turn-indicators, halogen headlights, power-adjustable ORVMs, second row ac vents, 17-inch wheels with plastic covers.
On the safety front, you get dual airbags, a 5-star NCAP safety rating, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold and descent control. Plus, for off-roading, the diesel version even offers a 4WD setup.

With a starting price of ₹17.39 Lakh, the new Z4 automatic trim undercuts many rivals that offer similar features. It stands up well against competition like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector. The idea here is simple, giving buyers more options without making them overspend.
