Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq in India at a starting price of Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom), while also introducing the new BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition. The BE 6 has been renamed as the BE 6 Sporteq and receives a revised variant line-up, three battery options, additional technology features and a Battery as a Service (BaaS) ownership option.
The new BE 6 Sporteq is available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery packs, while the Formula E Freedom Edition is offered exclusively with the 79kWh battery and is priced from Rs 24.45 lakh.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Price & Variants
The BE 6 Sporteq range starts at Rs 19.45 lakh and extends up to Rs 26.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra has also introduced BaaS pricing for the 59kWh versions of the ONE and TWO variants.

The BE 6 Sporteq will rival electric SUVs such as the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG Windsor. Deliveries of the standard BE 6 Sporteq are scheduled to begin on August 26, 2026.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq BaaS Explained
The BE 6 Sporteq is the latest Mahindra electric SUV to receive a Battery as a Service option. Under the scheme, customers pay a lower upfront vehicle price and separately pay for battery usage.
The BaaS option is currently restricted to the 59kWh battery on the ONE and TWO variants. The battery subscription is priced at Rs 3.75 per kilometre. Mahindra says this calculation is based on an assumed usage of 60km per day and an eight-year battery loan tenure. The quoted BaaS prices do not include statutory charges such as road tax, insurance and TCS.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Exterior
The exterior design of the BE 6 Sporteq remains largely unchanged from the BE 6. The major visual change is the addition of Sporteq badging, while the Launch Edition gets an exclusive Graphite Storm exterior colour. Depending on the variant, the SUV gets 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, flush-fitting door handles, a fixed panoramic glass roof and customisable LED tail-lamp text displays. The overall design continues with the sharply styled bodywork and coupe-SUV profile that defined the original BE 6.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Interior & Features
The biggest changes to the BE 6 Sporteq are found inside. Higher variants now receive a triple 12.3-inch display setup, similar to the layout used in the XEV 9e and XEV 9s.
The dashboard has also been redesigned. The previous halo-like loop around the driver has been replaced by a horizontal dashboard layout. This creates additional storage space and makes the wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports easier to access. The Launch Edition gets a Full Racing Tan interior with matching upholstery and dashboard trim. The Formula E variants, meanwhile, retain the dual-screen dashboard layout.
Depending on the variant, equipment includes a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon audio with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540-degree camera, head-up display, Level 2 ADAS, connected-car technology, auto park assist, an NFC digital key and wireless phone charging.
New TEQ Technology Suites
Mahindra has introduced six new TEQ technology suites with the BE 6 Sporteq. These focus on connectivity, personalisation and vehicle functions. TEQ_Me automatically recognises the driver and loads their personalised profile, while TEQ_Talk brings Google Gemini integration to the vehicle. TEQ_xting allows owners to display personalised messages on the LED tailgate display.
TEQ_Drive adds functions including Custom Drive Mode, Tribe Drive, Drift Mode and Acceleration Boost. The suite also introduces the Revive SOS function. Revive SOS can provide enough energy for the vehicle to travel up to 13km after the battery reaches zero, allowing the driver to reach a charging station. Mahindra says the function can be used up to five times during the vehicle’s lifetime.
Google Gemini integration will also be introduced to existing Mahindra electric SUVs through an over-the-air update starting in January 2027.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Battery, Power & Range
The BE 6 Sporteq is offered with three battery packs: 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh. All versions use a rear-mounted electric motor and rear-wheel drive.

The 59kWh version supports DC charging at up to 140kW, while the 70kWh and 79kWh versions support up to 160kW and 180kW, respectively.
Mahindra claims that all three battery packs can be charged from 20-80 percent in 20 minutes when connected to their respective maximum-rated DC chargers. An optional 7.2kW or 11.2kW AC wall charger is also available, with full charging times depending on the battery and charger configuration.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition
Alongside the revised BE 6 Sporteq range, Mahindra has launched the Formula E Freedom Edition. It replaces the earlier BE 6 Formula E Edition and takes a different approach to its exterior design. The new edition is available in two variants: FE, priced at Rs 24.45 lakh, and FE Four, priced at Rs 26.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
Unlike the previous Formula E Edition, the Freedom Edition does not use the racier front and rear styling previously associated with the model. Instead, it closely follows the standard BE 6 Sporteq’s exterior design, including its C-shaped front and rear DRLs and sleeker bumpers. Formula E badging remains on the front fenders, while the new edition also gets a Rosso Impulso exterior colour and tri-colour decals across the bodywork.
Formula E Freedom Edition Interior
The cabin layout remains largely unchanged but receives several Formula E-specific details. These include a Firestorm Orange colour scheme, leatherette and suede upholstery, a Formula E Freedom Edition plaque, Formula E graphics on the panoramic glass roof and unique virtual engine sounds.
The Freedom Edition also retains the halo-like loop on the dashboard that separates the driver and co-driver. As a result, it uses a dual 12.3-inch display arrangement rather than the triple-screen dashboard available on higher standard BE 6 Sporteq variants.
Equipment includes a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a powered driver’s seat, a 540-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.
It also gets the expanded connected-car functions introduced with the BE 6 Sporteq, including Google Gemini integration, gaming and karaoke features, automatic user-profile detection and Custom Drive Mode.
Formula E Freedom Edition Battery & Charging
The Formula E Freedom Edition is available only with the 79kWh battery pack and rear-wheel drive. Its electric motor produces 286hp and 380Nm.
The claimed MIDC range is 683km. The battery supports DC charging at up to 180kW, with Mahindra claiming a 20-80 percent charging time of 20 minutes. Using an 11.2kW AC charger, a full 0-100 percent charge takes 8.7 hours, while the 7.2kW charger takes 11.7 hours. Adaptive suspension is also carried over to the Formula E Freedom Edition.
BE 6 Sporteq Formula E Freedom Edition vs Standard BE 6 Sporteq
The Formula E Freedom Edition is positioned differently from the regular BE 6 Sporteq variants. While it shares the 79kWh battery, 286hp motor, 683km claimed range and 180kW DC charging capability with the range-topping standard versions, its cabin and exterior have several Formula E-specific changes.
The standard BE 6 Sporteq’s higher variants get the new triple-screen dashboard and redesigned horizontal layout, whereas the Formula E Freedom Edition retains the dual-screen arrangement and halo-style dashboard. The Freedom Edition also gets its own exterior colour, decals, interior colour scheme, Formula E badging and additional cabin detailing.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: Key Changes
With the introduction of the BE 6 Sporteq, Mahindra has effectively revised the BE 6 range rather than introducing an entirely new-generation model. The changes include the Sporteq branding, a new 70kWh battery option, revised variants, BaaS pricing for the 59kWh versions and a triple-screen dashboard on higher variants.
The new TEQ technology suites add additional connected functions, while the Revive SOS system introduces a limited emergency driving function for situations where the battery reaches zero. The Formula E Freedom Edition provides another option at the upper end of the range, retaining the 79kWh powertrain while using different exterior and interior styling from both the previous Formula E Edition and the standard BE 6 Sporteq.
