Kia has officially revealed the all-new Kia Syros EV ahead of its India launch later this month. Built on the K1 platform, the electric SUV shares its battery technology with the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Hyundai Creta Electric while retaining the same overall design as its petrol-powered counterpart. Bookings have already opened across India for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The new Kia Syros EV offers two battery pack options, a claimed driving range of up to 526 KM, premium features and Level 2 ADAS. As a result, it is set to strengthen Kia’s position in India’s fast-growing electric SUV segment.

The Kia Syros EV comes with two battery pack choices to suit different buyers. The entry-level version features a 42 KWH battery, while higher variants receive a larger 51.4 KWH battery pack.
The smaller battery delivers a claimed ARAI-certified range of 443 KM. Meanwhile, the larger battery extends the driving range to an impressive 526 KM, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in its segment.
Performance Remains A Strong Highlight
The larger 51.4 KWH battery powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 171 HP and 255 NM. Kia claims the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 KM/H in just 8.1 seconds.
Meanwhile, the 42 KWH version develops 135 HP and 255 NM. Therefore, even the entry-level variant delivers strong performance for everyday driving. Compared with rivals such as the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, the Syros EV offers higher power outputs.
Charging Options Offer More Flexibility
Kia offers both 7.4 KW and 11 KW AC home chargers with the Syros EV.
Using the 7.4 KW charger, the 42 KWH battery charges from 10 to 100 percent in around 6 hours. The larger battery completes the same process in approximately 7 hours and 15 minutes.
Moreover, a 100 KW DC fast charger can recharge the 51.4 KWH battery from 10 to 100 percent in just 39 minutes, making long-distance travel more convenient.
Exterior Design Remains Familiar
The Kia Syros EV looks almost identical to the petrol-powered model. However, Kia has replaced the conventional fuel filler with a charging port mounted on the front fender.
The SUV continues with the same LED lighting signature, rugged body cladding, sculpted bumpers and 17-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can also choose from nine exterior colours, while the X-Line variant gets exclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl finishes.
Interior Offers Premium Features
Inside, the Kia Syros EV retains the modern cabin layout seen on the ICE model. The dashboard features the Trinity Panoramic Display, which combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control display.
Additionally, the SUV offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging and three interior colour themes.
Furthermore, buyers get powered and ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining ventilated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, rear sunshades and a 16-litre front storage compartment.
