Kia has launched the Syros EV in India at a starting price of ₹13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Priced up to ₹20 lakh, the Syros EV becomes Kia’s most affordable electric vehicle in the country and its second mass-market EV after the Carens Clavis EV. The electric SUV offers two battery pack options, a claimed range of up to 526 KM, and a feature-loaded cabin. Deliveries are set to begin from July 30, 2026.
Two Battery Options On Offer
The Kia Syros EV is available with two battery packs: a 42 kWh unit and a larger 51.4 kWh pack. The smaller battery delivers a claimed ARAI-certified range of 443 KM, while the larger battery offers an impressive 526 KM on a single charge.
The long-range version also delivers segment-leading driving range, comfortably surpassing several rivals.
Performance & Charging
The 42 kWh battery powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 135 HP and 255 NM. Meanwhile, the larger 51.4 kWh battery develops 171 HP and 255 NM. Kia claims the long-range version can accelerate from 0-100 KM/H in just 8.1 seconds.
For charging, buyers can choose between 7.4 kW and 10.8 kW AC chargers. The larger battery takes around 7 hours and 15 minutes for a full charge using the 7.4 kW charger. With a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes.
Exterior Design Remains Familiar
The Syros EV closely resembles the petrol-powered Syros. The only noticeable exterior difference is the charging port, which replaces the conventional fuel filler cap.
The SUV retains its signature LED lighting, rugged body cladding, bumpers, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Kia also offers the Syros EV in nine exterior colours, while the X-Line variant receives exclusive paint options.
Interior & Features
Inside, the Syros EV continues with Kia’s premium cabin layout. The highlight is the Trinity Panoramic Display, which combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 5.0-inch climate control display.
Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless charging, powered and ventilated front seats, ventilated, sliding and reclining rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, rear sunshades, and a dual-camera dashcam. The SUV also offers a 16-litre front storage compartment.
Safety Features
Kia has equipped the Syros EV with a comprehensive safety package. It includes Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, hill-start assist, and an electronic parking brake. These features make the Syros EV one of the most well-equipped electric SUVs in its segment.
Prices In India
The Kia Syros EV is priced between ₹13.50 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can also opt for Kia’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, which reduces the starting price to ₹7.99 lakh. Under this scheme, customers pay an additional ₹3.30 per kilometre for battery usage. Kia is also offering a lifetime battery warranty and an assured buyback programme with up to 80 percent resale value after three years.
Rivals
The Kia Syros EV competes with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Although it carries a higher starting price than both rivals, the Syros EV offers a longer claimed driving range, more power, and several segment-first comfort features, including sliding, reclining, and ventilated rear seats.
