Jeep India has launched the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition to celebrate 85 years of the Jeep brand globally. The special edition is based on the higher-spec Model S (O) variant and costs Rs 26.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Jeep will offer only 85 units of the special edition in India, making it a limited-run model.
The Compass 85th Anniversary Edition gets cosmetic changes, a special interior theme and a few additional features. It also retains the same diesel engine and transmission options as the standard Model S (O).

The special edition receives a few exterior updates to distinguish it from the standard Compass. It gets ‘85’ decals on the doors, tailgate and wheel hub caps. The SUV also features gloss-black 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a darker appearance.
Other exterior elements remain unchanged. These include LED headlamps with eyebrow-shaped DRLs, the signature seven-slot black grille, LED fog lamps and LED tail-lamps. The rear also continues with LED rear fog lamps.
Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition Interior

Inside, the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition gets an all-black cabin with Mayan Gold accents. The seats feature black leatherette upholstery with matching gold-coloured stitching. Jeep has also extended the gold theme to the ambient lighting and the illuminated areas around the panoramic sunroof.
The standard equipment list includes powered and ventilated front seats, a memory function for the driver’s seat, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 9-speaker Alpine sound system. It also gets dual-zone climate control and a wireless phone charger.
Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition Features
Jeep is also offering an optional 85th Anniversary AXS accessory pack for the limited-edition Compass. The pack adds illuminated elements around the panoramic sunroof, a digital inside rearview mirror and front and rear dashcams.
However, Jeep has not announced the price of the AXS pack yet. The standard special edition retains the main equipment package of the Model S (O), while the optional accessories provide additional convenience and technology.
Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition Engine & Transmission
The Compass 85th Anniversary Edition uses the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the Model S (O). This engine produces 170 HP and 350 NM of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The 9-speed automatic version is also available with a 4WD system. This gives buyers the option of choosing between a more conventional front-wheel-drive setup and a four-wheel-drive configuration for additional traction.

Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition Rivals
The Compass 85th Anniversary Edition sits in the premium SUV segment and competes with models such as the Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan and MG Majestor. Its limited production run gives the special edition a different appeal compared with regular Compass variants.
The combination of the diesel engine, optional 4WD system and limited-edition styling also allows the Compass to retain its focus on long-distance touring and SUV capability.
Conclusion
The Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition adds a distinctive appearance and exclusive cabin theme to the SUV without changing its core mechanical package. The black exterior elements, Mayan Gold accents and limited production run separate it from the standard Compass.
With only 85 units planned for India, the special edition is aimed at buyers looking for a more exclusive version of the Compass. Its Rs 26.70 lakh starting price also keeps it aligned with the Model S (O) variant.
