South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) showcased its all-new Pleos software brand at the “Pleos 25” developer conference in Seoul last week. Representatives from other companies such as Samsung Electronics, Google, Naver, SOCAR and Unity also attended this event, looking to step up collaboration to develop similar software systems.
What is Pleos?

Hyundai’s new Pleos infotainment system enters a marketplace where drivers increasingly treat their dashboards as extensions of their digital lives. Hyundai’s new system was developed in response to consumer habits treating screens as premium and luxurious. Officials described it as “a significant step toward the company’s evolution into a mobility technology company, by sharing the development status of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and revealing plans for creating an in-vehicle app market and ecosystem based on its next-generation infotainment system.”
What Makes Pleos Unique?

The Pleos system offers connectivity that functions differently across various environments. It comes with Bluetooth and a wireless charging pad for customers to pair to their own devices. It supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Hyundai confirmed that Pleos is a “mobility software” platform that “supports all devices in motion to move autonomously and be managed smartly. It connects transportation and infrastructure, including vehicles, to help users, businesses, and cities establish a “freer, more efficient mobility environment.”
It integrates the following into one package:
- High-performance chips and controllers
- Vehicle operating system (vehicle OS)
- Infotainment system (Pleos Connect)
- Cloud infrastructure
- Fleet management
- Mobility and logistics optimization solutions
What’s Hyundai’s Plan?

Hyundai claims its “technology stack” allows for many advanced functions such as autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, real-time data analysis and better route planning. It wants to maximise urban transport efficiency and improve user experience.
When Can We See Pleos?
HMG plans to integrate Pleos in vehicles from Q2 2026. They also plan to introduce Level 2+ (L2+) ADAS functionality by the end of 2027, which uses cameras and radar to recognise its surroundings and make decisions based on advanced deep learning algorithms.
