Hyundai Reports 4-Fold EV Retail Growth-Creta Electric Effect?

The February 2025 EV sales figures have been made public by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). With a four-fold increase in sales over the previous month, Hyundai Motor India is now the third-best-selling manufacturer in the electric passenger car market. In particular, the brand sold 738 items, a 481.10% increase over the 127 units sold in 2024 over the same time frame. Furthermore, compared to January 2025, the brand had an increase of 129.91 percent.

Sales numbers for individual models have not yet been made public. However, the recent introduction of the Creta Electric to the Indian market is responsible for the surge in Hyundai’s EV sales. The popularity of the popular SUV’s internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart seems to be helping this electric version, which was unveiled in January.

The current starting price of the Hyundai Creta Electric is Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the maximum price is Rs 24.37 lakh (ex-showroom). With a few minor EV-specific adjustments, its architecture is quite identical to that of its ICE counterpart. It also has new alloy wheels that are 17 inches in diameter. Eight monotone and two dual-tone paint options are available to buyers.

It is outfitted with a wide array of technologies to guarantee passenger safety, including a digital key, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and more safety gear. Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence are the four different trim levels that comprise these features.

A 42 kWh battery with a stated driving range of 390 km and a bigger 51.4 kWh battery with an estimated range of 473 km on a single charge are the two battery pack options available for this electric car. With the help of DC charging, both battery configurations can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes.
