Hyundai Motor Company recently unveiled teaser images for the upcoming Hyundai Inster EV, a new all-electric vehicle based on the popular ICE powered Hyundai Casper. The Inster is expected to debut at the Busan International Mobility Show in South Korea, held from June 27 to July 27, 2024.

Inster – Design:

The teasers showcase a futuristic compact SUV design for the INSTER. It gets Signature daytime running lights (DRLs) and a unique pixel lighting system for turn signals and taillights to characterize the exterior. It will also get a sunroof, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna. The design appears to blend elements from the Hyundai Casper and IONIQ 5, hinting at Hyundai’s evolving design language for electric vehicles.

Interiors & Powertrain:

Specific details regarding the interior and powertrain remain undisclosed. However, glimpses from the teasers suggest a fully digital instrument cluster. While official specifications haven’t been confirmed by Hyundai, the teasers indicate a potential driving range of around 315km (WLTP).

Indian Market Potential?

The Hyundai Inster EV has the potential to be a competitive entry in the affordable electric car segment. While Hyundai India hasn’t confirmed its arrival in the Indian market, it could pose a significant challenge to existing electric vehicles like the MG Comet, Citroen eC3, Tata Punch EV, and Tata Tiago EV if launched.
