Hyundai has updated the Creta Electric portfolio by adding three new variants while also revising prices across the range. The refreshed lineup now offers buyers more choices depending on features and budget. Alongside this change, the car now comes with an improved claimed range of up to 510 KM, thanks to an updated battery pack. This figure is a notable increase compared to earlier maximum of 473 KM. This places the Creta Electric closer to its rivals in terms of long-distance usability. However, the expansion has also caused a price hike across variants, making the EV more expensive than before.

Updated Pricing Across Variants

With this update, the Creta Electric’s price range now extends from ₹18.02 lakh to ₹23.67 lakh ex-showroom. The hike of on existing variants reflects increased input costs and updates to the battery system. The newly added trims sit between the mid and top-spec models, broadening the lineup for buyers looking for specific feature combinations.

Technical Changes & Performance

The Creta Electric’s range has improved roughly by about 7.8 percent. It has been increased from 390 KM to 420 KM for the 42 KWH battery pack, and 473 KM to 510 KM for the 51.4 KWH pack. This addresses one of the key concerns of EV buyers who prioritise longer travel between charging stops. The SUV continues to feature a single-motor setup driving the front wheels. The power and torque figures remain unchanged. Hyundai has enabled the updated range along with faster charging capabilities (up to 200KW) for both battery options via over-the-air (OTA) updates. This is also applicable for existing Creta Electric owners.

Features & Equipment Spread

The new lineup gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard via a wired-to-wireless adapter, with options like dashcam and rear wireless charging available in higher trims. The 42KWH Excellence variant includes Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS with 20 features, surround and blind-spot view monitors and electric seat adjustments. The Executive Tech variant offers features such as a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. Meanwhile, the Executive (O) with the 51.4 kWh battery offers extended range alongside essential comforts. Additionally, two new colors, Matte Black and Shadow Grey, are now available across the lineup.

Conclusion

The updated lineup comes at a time when competition in the EV SUV space is intensifying, with models like the Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra BE6 and MG ZS EV targeting similar buyers. While the price hike might be seen as a negative, the improved range and wider variant options could help Hyundai retain interest in the Creta Electric. The SUV has already built a good record in India due to its internal combustion counterpart, and the electric version is expected to leverage that trust.
