The Hyundai Alcazar has been in the market for quite some time now, and Hyundai has gotten a decent reception for it. However, sales have started to decline. The Creta, its 5-seater sibling, got revisions recently and Hyundai has decided to update the Alcazar as well.
What’s New about the Facelift version?
The most distinct change would be the exterior. The Alcazar would have a front-end similar to the Creta and would adopt the basic design outline from it. The side profile would still be identical to the outgoing version bar for minor modifications with the body cladding. Hyundai also has conducted cosmetic changes at the rear. The most notable observations from the spied images are the new colour scheme and the revised alloy wheel design.
The Alcazar will now come equipped with Level 2 ADAS which includes safety features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning and avoidance assist, blind spot collision warning and avoidance assist, etc.
One area where there would be minimal changes is the engine bay. The powertrain and drivetrain will be carried over from the old version. A 1.5L petrol and a 1.5L diesel, with 3 gearbox options which includes a 7-speed DCT, 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual.
Expected Date Of Launch
The current Alcazar has been on sale for more than 3 years and is long due for a fresher look. The pricing is expected to be steeper now, and the pricing may start from 17 lakh rupees [ ex-showroom ]. The outgoing model pricing starts upward of 16.75 lakh rupees. You can expect the bookings to commence by late 2024.
The Alcazar is the only 7-seater in the Hyundai lineup and is an option for people who seek a Creta with improved practicality. Direct competitors include the Mahindra XUV700, Kia Carens, Toyota Innova Hycross, Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus. The competition is fierce but with an attractive equipment list and a fresher look Hyundai could bring the Alcazar sales figures back up.
