Honda has officially teased the upcoming Honda ZR-V e: HEV ahead of its India debut on May 22, 2026. The premium hybrid SUV will launch alongside the facelifted Honda City and will enter the market as a completely built unit. The teaser reveals several exterior details while confirming the SUV’s international styling for the Indian market.
Exterior Design & Styling Details

The teaser showcases the ZR-V e:HEV’s sharp front-end styling with slim LED headlights and L-shaped LED daytime running lamps. Honda has also added a sculpted bonnet design, flush-type roof rails, and a sunroof. The international-spec model further features a grille with vertical chrome slats and a blacked-out lower bumper section with honeycomb mesh detailing.
From the side, the SUV carries a clean profile with gloss-black body cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors. At the rear, wraparound LED tail-lights and dual exhaust outlets add a sportier appearance.
Dimensions & Road Presence
The India-spec Honda ZR-V Hybrid is expected to retain the same dimensions as the global version. The SUV measures 4,568 MM in length, 1,840 MM in width, and 1,620 MM in height. Meanwhile, the wheelbase stands at 2,657 MM with a claimed ground clearance of 180 MM.
Honda is also expected to offer alloy wheels ranging between 17 and 19 inches, depending on the variant.
Hybrid Powertrain & Performance

Honda has not officially confirmed the India-spec powertrain details yet. However, the ZR-V e:HEV is expected to use the same 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine available internationally. This setup produces 180 HP and 240 NM and comes paired with an e-CVT automatic transmission.
Internationally, the SUV claims a 0-100 KM/H acceleration time of under 8 seconds depending on the variant, while top speed is electronically limited to 172 KM/H.
Interior Layout & Features

Inside, the ZR-V Hybrid is expected to feature a dual-tone cabin theme along with a layered dashboard design inspired by the latest Honda Accord. The centre console uses drive selector buttons instead of a traditional gear lever, creating a cleaner layout.
The SUV is also likely to receive a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.2-inch fully digital driver display. Other expected features include powered front seats, memory function for the driver seat, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Safety & Technology Features
Honda is expected to equip the ZR-V e:HEV with Level 2 ADAS technology alongside six airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The ADAS package could include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation braking, and automatic high beam assist.
These additions would position the SUV competitively in India’s premium hybrid SUV segment.
Prices In India
The Honda ZR-V e:HEV is expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh ex-showroom. Since the SUV will arrive through the completely built unit route, import duties are likely to increase overall pricing significantly compared to locally assembled rivals.
Honda will position the ZR-V Hybrid as a premium five-seater SUV above the current mainstream lineup.
Rivals & Market Position
In India, the Honda ZR-V e:HEV will rival premium SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. The hybrid powertrain could also help the SUV attract buyers looking for improved fuel efficiency in the premium segment.
Unlike several rivals focusing entirely on turbo-petrol powertrains, Honda’s strong-hybrid setup could become a key differentiator in urban usage conditions.
India Relevance & Market Outlook

The ZR-V e:HEV marks Honda’s renewed focus on premium hybrid vehicles in India. While the brand currently has a limited SUV lineup locally, the addition of a global hybrid SUV could strengthen its position in the growing premium segment.
The launch also highlights the increasing demand for hybrid technology in India, particularly among buyers seeking fuel efficiency without switching fully to electric vehicles.
