Honda has officially expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the updated Honda City and the all-new Honda ZR-V. Revealed at a media event today, the City facelift features sharper styling, more technology, and additional comfort features. Meanwhile, the ZR-V enters the premium SUV segment with hybrid power and a feature-rich cabin.
With these launches, Honda aims to strengthen its presence in both the midsize sedan and premium SUV segments in India.
Honda City Facelift Gets Sharper Styling & More Features

The updated Honda City receives a significantly revised front-end design. It now gets slimmer LED headlamps with a front light bar, a new honeycomb-pattern grille and a redesigned bumper with larger air inlets. Honda has also repositioned the brand logo above the grille for a cleaner look.
Along the sides, the sedan gets newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear receives updated lighting elements with smoked effect and revised bumper detailing. Overall, the facelifted model looks noticeably sportier than before.
Inside, Honda has introduced a larger freestanding infotainment system with updated graphics and faster connectivity. The cabin also gains new trim finishes and upholstery options for a fresher appearance.
New Features Added Over The Older City

Honda has equipped the new City facelift with several features that were missing on the outgoing version. The sedan now offers ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera system on higher variants.
The infotainment unit is larger than before and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Honda has also improved the user interface and added new connected car functionality.
The hybrid e:HEV variant continues with ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking. Honda is also expected to offer six airbags as standard across more variants.
Engine Options Continue Unchanged

The facelifted City continues with the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121 HP and 145 NM. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission.
Honda also retains the strong hybrid e:HEV powertrain, which develops 126 HP and comes paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The hybrid continues to deliver excellent fuel efficiency along with smooth urban drivability.
Honda ZR-V Makes India Debut
The all-new Honda ZR-V enters India as the brand’s premium midsize SUV positioned between the Honda Elevate and the global CR-V. Since it will be sold as a CBU model, the ZR-V will target buyers seeking a more exclusive, premium SUV experience.
Honda ZR-V Exterior Design

The SUV carries a sleek and sporty design with a large gloss-black grille, slim LED lighting and muscular body lines. Its coupe-like roofline and wide stance give it a more premium road presence compared to Honda’s existing SUVs in India.
The rear features connected-style LED tail-lamps and a clean tailgate design, while larger alloy wheels and chrome detailing further enhance its upscale appearance. But, the ZR-V is now a dated model that has been present in markets overseas for quite some time, which affects how modern the design appeals, especially compared to newer vehicles in the competition.
Honda ZR-V Interior & Features

Inside, the ZR-V gets a modern dashboard layout with a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital 10-inch instrument cluster. The cabin focuses heavily on comfort and premium materials.
Features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, powered front seats, connected car tech and a premium Bose 12-speaker sound system. Honda’s Sensing ADAS Level 2 is also offered. For safety, the ZR-V will offer 8 airbags with knee airbags included for added safety.
Rear seat space is generous, and the SUV also offers a large boot for family use, with a boot capacity of over 1000 litres when the second row is folded flat, and the ZR-V gets an electronic tail gate with kick gesture.
Honda ZR-V Powertrain
The Honda ZR-V has been launched in India with Honda’s 2.0-litre e:HEV strong-hybrid powertrain. This setup combines a naturally aspirated petrol engine with a dual-electric motor hybrid system and an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The hybrid system produces 184 PS and 315 NM, delivering strong low-end response along with a refined highway performance.
Power is sent to the front wheels, and the hybrid setup also helps the ZR-V deliver improved fuel efficiency without compromising performance.
Pricing & Rivals
The Honda City facelift is going to carry a slight premium over the outgoing model, with prices to start from Rs 12 lakh and go up to Rs 20 lakh for the hybrid variants, and it will rival the Volkswagen Virtus and the Hyundai Verna.
Meanwhile, the Honda ZR-V is expected to be priced between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 40 lakh, placing it against SUVs such as the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
Conclusion
With the updated City facelift and the introduction of the ZR-V, Honda has taken a major step toward refreshing its India line-up. The City now feels more modern and feature-rich than before, while the ZR-V gives Honda an entry into the premium hybrid SUV segment. Both launches show Honda’s renewed focus on design, technology, and premium positioning in the Indian market.
But, time will tell if the Honda ZR-V gains success or if it goes down the same path as some other CBU imported SUVs that have failed before due to pricing.
