Honda has opened pre-bookings for the Elevate facelift in India ahead of its October 6 launch. Customers can book the updated SUV at dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. Honda has also released a teaser showing revised exterior styling and interior updates. The powertrain is expected to remain unchanged.

New Grille & Segmented LED DRLs

The teaser reveals a redesigned grille featuring glossy hexagonal elements. Honda has moved its logo from the grille to the bonnet. The facelift also gets segmented LED daytime running lamps, similar to the updated City. Meanwhile, the headlamps and fog lamp housings appear largely unchanged.

At the rear, the Elevate facelift gets connected LED tail-lights. The teaser also shows a camera pod on the left ORVM. This confirms that the SUV will continue with Honda’s LaneWatch camera system instead of a 360-degree camera setup.

Revamped Dashboard & Ambient Lighting

Honda has shown only a limited portion of the updated cabin. However, the teaser reveals a redesigned dashboard with additional white leatherette padding and stitching. Amber ambient lighting strips are also visible across the dashboard and door pads.

Honda has not confirmed the complete feature list yet. However, the facelift could gain a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a powered co-driver’s seat and rear sunblinds. These additions would expand the SUV’s equipment list against its rivals.

Existing 1.5-Litre Petrol Engine Expected To Continue

The Elevate facelift is expected to retain the existing 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 121 HP and 145 NM and is currently available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT. The 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain available with the City is unlikely to be introduced with the facelift.

Expected Prices & Rivals

Honda is expected to revise the Elevate’s prices following the facelift. The current SUV costs Rs 11.81 lakh to Rs 16.36 lakh, ex-showroom. It will continue to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Victoris, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Renault Duster.

Verdict

The Elevate facelift brings visible styling changes and a revised cabin while retaining its existing petrol powertrain. Honda has yet to confirm the additional features and revised prices. More details will be announced at the October 6 launch.
