Fresh spy shots of the upcoming Honda City facelift have surfaced online ahead of its official launch on May 22, 2026. The updated sedan will debut alongside the new Honda ZR-V and brings subtle styling revisions, updated interior elements, and feature upgrades. The latest images reveal new details at the rear, inside the cabin, and around the alloy wheel design.
Exterior Design & Styling Updates
The updated Honda City facelift receives a revised front fascia featuring a connected LED DRL setup. The sedan also gets newly designed all-black alloy wheels, giving it a slightly sportier appearance. At the rear, Honda has added a redesigned bumper with contrasting black trim and triangular styling elements similar to those seen on the front bumper.
However, the LED tail-light design remains unchanged from the current model. The boot-mounted lip spoiler also continues without major revisions.
Interior Changes & Feature Updates
Inside the cabin, the spied model revealed a larger free-standing infotainment display mounted on the dashboard. Honda is also expected to introduce updated dashboard materials and new blue ambient lighting elements to modernise the interior layout.
The overall cabin design appears familiar, although the revised touchscreen and updated lighting setup could improve the sedan’s technology appeal against newer rivals in the segment.
Engine Options & Performance
Honda is likely to retain the existing engine options for the facelifted City. The standard petrol version currently uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121 HP and 145 NM. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic.
The strong-hybrid version is also expected to continue unchanged. It develops a combined 126 HP and comes paired with an e-CVT transmission setup focused on efficiency and urban drivability.
Prices In India
The updated Honda City facelift is expected to carry a slight premium over the current model. At present, the petrol-powered City range is priced between ₹11.99 lakh and ₹16.07 lakh, while the hybrid variant starts at ₹19.99 lakh ex-showroom.
Following the facelift update, prices could increase marginally depending on the variant and feature additions.
Rivals & Segment Competition
The facelifted Honda City will continue competing against sedans such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna in the Indian market.
While the midsize sedan segment has become smaller due to growing SUV demand, manufacturers continue updating their sedan line-ups to attract buyers looking for comfort, fuel efficiency, and premium cabin space.
