Fresh Spy Shots of Tata Altroz Facelift Unveil Key Design Updates

Some design elements are visible in the Tata Altroz facelift, which has been spied testing. It is anticipated that the Altroz’s mid-cycle update would include just minimal exterior and interior design modifications, with no mechanical changes and mild feature additions.

Exterior Changes

The Altroz test mule under surveillance is heavily camouflaged, concealing the majority of information. The revised front bumper, which has a vertical wrinkle beneath the fog light units, is what is seen, though. The usage of LED components in the indicators and taillights is another distinguishable design aspect.

Interior & New Features

No more inside features are visible in the most recent Altroz spy photos, despite the fact that they display a sizable infotainment screen, most likely the 10.25-inch type seen on the top-spec vehicle and the Altroz Racer. With the updated Altroz, Tata will probably democratize some high-end amenities and add new upholstery and door trim.

Lower-end models could have the bigger infotainment screen, and the regular top-spec model might also come with the ventilated front seats, which are exclusive to the Racer in this class. Another thing to note is that the Altroz facelift is not anticipated to come with a sunroof.

Powertrain Options

The 1.2-liter, 88-horsepower Altroz is available with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch auto transmission. There is also a 90hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine option and a 73.5hp factory-fit CNG variant. The sole gearbox available for the CNG and diesel-powered Altroz is a 5-speed manual. The Altroz Racer and the Tata Nexon both have a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Altroz facelift is anticipated to come with all five engine options.

Market Performance

After the launch of the performance-focused Altroz Racer, and the fact that an automatic version was on the cards, the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Baleno rival hasn’t been in the news much, other than featuring on the Tata discounts lists. With these new spy shots surfacing, it seems like Tata Motors is moving ahead with the mid-cycle refresh for the hatchback launched in January 2020. It has received variant and feature updates since, along with the addition of a more powerful turbo-petrol engine, but no design changes.

In actuality, competitors like the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Toyota Glanza are outselling Tata’s high-end hatchback, so it isn’t blowing up the sales charts. This is true even though the Altroz is the only model in the high-end hatchback market with a diesel engine option. The Altroz is currently priced between Rs 6.65 lakh and Rs 11.30 lakh, ex-showroom, India.
