Ferrari has launched the amalfi spider in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.60 crore, before optional extras. The convertible grand tourer arrives in the country just four months after its global debut, making it one of Ferrari’s quickest India launches in recent years. Based on the amalfi coupe, the spider combines the brand’s signature V8 performance with the appeal of open-top driving. Although it commands a premium over the coupe, it retains virtually identical performance while adding greater exclusivity.

Prices In India

Ferrari has priced the amalfi spider at Rs 4.60 crore (ex-showroom), before optional extras. In comparison, the amalfi coupe is available at Rs 4.08 crore (ex-showroom), meaning the convertible carries a premium of Rs 52 lakh. Customers can now place orders through Ferrari’s authorised dealerships across India, while final on-road prices will vary depending on optional equipment, customisation choices and registration charges.

Powertrain & Performance

The amalfi spider is powered by the same 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine as the coupe. It develops 640 HP and 760 NM of torque, with power sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Ferrari claims the convertible accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in just 3.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 320 KM/H. Although the spider weighs 86 KG more than the coupe, its performance remains almost unchanged. Consequently, buyers can enjoy open-air driving without compromising the performance expected from a Ferrari grand tourer.

Exterior Design

The amalfi spider closely resembles the coupe, with the retractable fabric roof serving as the primary visual difference. Ferrari says the roof opens or closes in just 13.5 seconds and can be operated at speeds of up to 60 KM/H. As a result, drivers can switch between open and closed configurations even while driving.

Furthermore, buyers can choose from four roof colours to personalise their cars. Ferrari has also designed the five-layer fabric roof to deliver cabin insulation comparable to that of a hard-top model. Additionally, rear-seat wind deflectors reduce wind turbulence inside the cabin, while the exclusive Rosso Tramonto exterior paint is available only for the spider.

Interior & Features

Inside, the amalfi spider retains the same premium 2+2 cabin layout as the coupe. The dashboard features a 15.6-inch digital driver display, a 10.25-inch central infotainment touchscreen and an 8.8-inch passenger display.

Moreover, the cabin includes powered sports seats, an aluminium-milled centre console and Ferrari’s multifunction steering wheel with physical controls. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless charging, automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, connected car technology and advanced driver assistance systems are all offered. Buyers can also personalise the upholstery, trim materials and interior colour combinations through Ferrari’s extensive customisation programme.

Practicality

Despite its performance-focused nature, the amalfi spider remains practical enough for weekend getaways and long-distance touring. With the roof closed, the boot offers 255 litres of luggage space. However, capacity reduces to 172 litres when the fabric roof is folded away.

Rivals

The amalfi spider competes with luxury convertible grand tourers such as the Aston Martin DB12 Volante, Bentley Continental GTC and Maserati GranCabrio. However, Ferrari differentiates the amalfi spider with its combination of lightweight engineering, rear-wheel-drive dynamics and a high-revving twin-turbo V8 engine.

Final Thoughts

The amalfi spider adds another exclusive model to Ferrari’s India portfolio while expanding the brand’s grand touring lineup. It delivers the same thrilling performance as the coupe, yet offers the added experience of open-top driving. Moreover, its luxurious cabin, extensive personalisation options and impressive performance figures make it an attractive choice for buyers seeking a high-performance convertible in the ultra-luxury segment.
