Citroën has teased the Aircross X for India and opened bookings ahead of its official launch later this month. The SUV will expand the brand’s presence in the mid-size crossover segment, where competition has increased with multiple new entries. The Aircross X carries new design touches that set it apart from the existing Aircross. It becomes the third Citroën model to get the ‘X’ treatment. Customers can now pre-book the SUV through official dealerships and the company’s online platform at ₹11,000, with deliveries expected to start shortly after launch.

Powertrain Updates
Just like the C3 X and Basalt X, which got no mechanical changes, the same is expected for the Aircross X. It is likely to continue with the 82 HP 1.2-litre 3-cylinder NA petrol engine for the lower trims. That might come with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The higher trims will likely retain the 110 HP 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. To make the SUV more accessible, Citroën is likely to position it aggressively within the segment.

Features, Design & Interior
The teaser of the Aircross X suggests that it might get a new dark green colour along with dual-tone alloy wheels. It will come loaded with features just like the C3 X and Basalt X. This includes ventilated seats, keyless entry, push button start, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, an auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control (as confirmed in the teaser), and a 360-degree camera. It might also include Citroën’s new ‘Cara’ in-car AI assistant. On the outside, it gets LED lights, newly designed alloy wheels and dual-tone paint options. It might also get an ‘X’ badging on the tailgate.

Market Expectations
With the Aircross X, Citroën is aiming to capture attention in a competitive category. It will rival models like the Creta, Grand Vitara and Curvv, all of which offer strong feature lists and powertrain choices. Citroën’s strategy will rely on delivering a unique design, value-oriented variants and an ownership experience backed by expanding service support. Market response to pre-bookings will provide early indications of how well the Aircross X is welcomed by customers.
