BYD Sealion 7 Launched At Rs 48.9 Lakh

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has officially launched the Sealion 7 in India. Priced at Rs 48.9 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Premium variant and Rs 54.9 lakh for the Performance variant, it adds to BYD’s portfolio offering a premium electric crossover.

Design

The Sealion 7 is based on BYD’s e-platform 3.0 which is shared with the already-launched Seal. It features the brand’s Ocean Aesthetics design language sharing many design elements with the Seal sedan. It sports a coupe-like roofline, angular LED headlamps with connected tail-lights at the rear. It comes in four colors: Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, Cosmos Black, and Shark Grey.

Interior

Inside, the Sealion 7 comes with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen and a flat-botto msteering wheel with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It gets many premium features like electrically adjustable front seats that are heated & ventilated, a panoramic sunroof with a blind, a 12-speaker DYNAUDIO system & dual-zone climate control.

Powertrain

Both variants are powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack, with the Premium variant offered as rear-wheel drive with a single motor while the performance motor gets all-wheel drive and a dual motor setup. The premium variant packs 308 BHP & 380 NM of torque & sprints from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The Performance variant has 523 BHP & 690 NM of torque, which accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. They offer 567 km & 542 km of range respectively. It is one of the first vehicles to offer a low voltage LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery in India.

Bookings & Warranty

Bookings for the Sealion 7 began on January 18, 2025 with a token amount of Rs 70,000. BYD is offering a complimentary 7 kW charger and a 6-year / 1,50,000 km battery warranty along with 6 years of free roadside assistance.
