BYD Denza Z9 GT Design Patented In India

BYD has recently launched the Sealion 7 in India, and the company is looking forward to expanding its lineup further in the country. BYD has patented the Denza Z9 GT in India, which suggests that the company is looking to launch this model. However, it can also mean that the company wants to protect the design patent of the vehicle.

Design

The Denza Z9 GT is the estate version of the Denza Z9 sedan. The regular Denza Z9 is a large luxury sedan sold in the Chinese market and is also intended to be sold in European markets. In comparison, the GT has a sloping roof line, and is more practical because of design elements such as a 5-door form factor, with a lift-up hatchback-style tailgate.

The Denza Z9 GT PHEV measures 5159 MM in length, 1990 MM in width, and 1500 MM in height with a wheelbase that measures 3125 MM. The EV version of the Denza Z9 is 5180 MM long, with all other dimensions being the same.

The Denza Z9 GT is based on BYD’s “Elegance in Motion” design language. It gets swooping lines across the vehicle body with design elements such as flush door handles, elongated lighting elements, a sloping roofline, a split roof spoiler, a diffuser, wraparound tail lights, large alloy wheels, and more. The Denza Z9 GT patented in India does not get the optional rearview cameras.

The Denza Z9 GT gets 5 displays i.e. a 17.3-inch infotainment screen, a 13.2-inch instrumentation screen, a 13.2-inch screen for the passenger, and two displays on the door trims to relay the rearview camera feed. There is also a 50-inch Heads Up Display as well. The interior feature set consists of attributes such as electrically operated doors, electrically operated seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, a large panoramic sunroof, exquisite materials, a premium audio system with retractable Devialet speakers, extensive sound deadening measure, rear privacy glass, dual 50W wireless charging pads, hidden AC vents, multi-zone climate control, a floating centre console, a 4 spoke steering wheel, a 4L refrigerator at the front and a 10L refrigerator at the rear, and a 128-colour ambient lighting system.

BYD Denza Z9 GT Performance And Range

The base PHEV version of the Denza Z9 GT has BYD’s DM 5.0 technology. It has a 204BHP 2.0L internal combustion engine paired with a 38.51 KWH blade battery pack. The pure electric range is around 201KM and the total system range is around 1100 KM. There are 3 electric motors with a combined output of 858 BHP going from 0-100 KM/H in 3.6 seconds. There’s another variant called the 630 4WD Max EV, with a power output of 952 BHP and a 630 KM range. This variant comes with a 100 kWh battery pack and 3 motors. This variant is capable of going from 0-100 KM/H in just 3.4 seconds.

BYD Denza Z9 GT Price And Rivals

In China, prices for the Denza Z9 GT start from approximately Rs. 40 Lakh and go to Rs. 46.25 Lakh. This vehicle, if launched, will be the sole offering in its segment with no real competition. Previously, Porsche used to offer the Taycan Cross Turismo, which was an estate version of the Taycan but now this model has been discontinued.
