Bugatti has revealed the Destrier, a one-off hypercar created under its Programme Solitaire division. The bespoke model is the third Solitaire commission after the Brouillard and F.K.P. Hommage. Moreover, it combines the Bolide’s carbon-fibre chassis with completely new bodywork inspired by the iconic Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic.
Unlike the track-focused Bolide, the Destrier takes a more design-focused approach. It retains the powerful W16 engine while adding a more luxurious cabin and a grand-touring character.
Destrier Gets Type 57SC Atlantic-Inspired Design
The Destrier shares its carbon-fibre monocoque with the Bolide. However, its new bodywork gives the hypercar a cleaner and more sculpted appearance. The design features a revised Bugatti C-line, a wider horseshoe grille and redesigned lighting elements.
The rear also gets a blended wing and pronounced haunches. Furthermore, the Destrier stands just 1 metre tall, making it the lowest Bugatti ever built. The car rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.
Exclusive Exterior Details Add Bespoke Character
Bugatti has finished the Destrier in an exclusive Sapphire Celeste paint shade. The bespoke colour was created specifically for the one-off commission. In addition, polished aluminium elements and tinted exposed carbon-fibre sections add further visual contrast.
The design takes inspiration from a medieval war horse. Consequently, the car features long and low proportions that reflect the theme behind its Destrier name.
Cabin Focuses On Luxury & Craftsmanship
The Destrier gets a completely redesigned interior compared with the stripped-out Bolide cockpit. The cabin combines Ambre Voyageur leather with nubuck upholstery and a bespoke 3D-knitted textile. Copper yarn woven into the material adds another distinctive detail.
Furthermore, hammered metal finishes appear on the door handles, air vents, steering wheel hub and entry plates. A small French flag also highlights Bugatti’s French heritage.
1,600 HP W16 Engine Continues
Power comes from the Bolide’s 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine. The powertrain produces 1,600 HP, although Bugatti has not revealed acceleration or top-speed figures for the Destrier.
The hypercar continues to use the Bolide’s carbon-fibre chassis and running gear. However, Bugatti has not confirmed whether it has made any mechanical changes beyond the new bodywork. Therefore, performance figures remain undisclosed.
Programme Solitaire Creates Unique Bugatti Models
The Destrier is the third one-off model created through Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire. The division allows individual customers to commission highly personalised vehicles with bespoke designs and materials.
Only one Destrier will exist worldwide. Moreover, Bugatti will showcase the hypercar during Monterey Car Week, with its public debut scheduled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 16, 2026.
