BMW India has confirmed a third round of price increases in 2025, with prices of models set to surge by up to 3% starting September 1. This hike affects both locally assembled models like the 2 Series Gran Coupé and X1 and fully imported models such as the i7 and XM. The company cites persistent foreign exchange pressure and elevated global supply chain and logistics costs as the reason for this price hike. This places further upward pressure on luxury car ownership costs at a time when BMW already raised prices earlier in April and January.

ModelCurrent Price (₹ ex-showroom)Estimated Price (After 3% Hike)
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé₹46.90 lakh₹48.31 lakh
BMW 3 Series LWB₹62.00 lakh₹63.86 lakh

BMW X5₹97.80 lakh₹1.01 crore
BMW XM₹2.60 crore₹2.678 crore

Effects Across The Entire Portfolio

This new revision will impact every model in BMW India’s lineup, from entry-level luxury sedans like the 2 Series all the way up to flagship imports like the XM and i7. Previous increases in April and January indicate that this trend is evolving into a pattern rather than being an isolated incident. For buyers and enthusiasts, these increases can add several lakhs to the final on-road price.

What’s Behind The Price Push

The latest increase comes amidst persistent global challenges impacting the automotive industry. BMW India cites continued fluctuations in foreign currency markets and rising material and shipping expenses as the primary cause. Earlier this year, even Mercedes India had announced a 1.5% price hike, which will be implemented from September 2025. Despite this, BMW remains dedicated to delivering strong value and customer experience, especially during the festive season, when several models are expected to be updated or launched.

Buying Strategy Amid Price Shift

With the festive season approaching and numerous models awaiting upgrades, potential BMW buyers may find an opportunity in early-September bookings before the new prices take effect. For individuals considering premium sedans like the 3 Series or performance models like the XM, now could be the perfect time to finalise deals. As a result, dealers might provide customised financing plans or loyalty rewards, helping offset some of the additional cost.
