BMW have introduced the SUV here at ₹3.15 crore (ex-showroom), it is the most powerful car produced by the M performance division. In addition to the mechanical upgrades, it features red elements inside and outside, setting it apart from the standard version of the SUV.
Only 500 units of it will be produced globally and out of which, only 1 unit is being brought to India. Also, to mark its exclusivity, it comes equipped with a plaque below the control display reading ‘1 of 500’.
It was unveiled globally as the ‘XM Label Red’ in April 2023, but has been renamed to just ‘XM Label’ since then. It is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine producing 750 HP and 1,000 N-m of torque, which is 95 HP and 200 N-m higher than the regular XM. Compared to the standard cars electric only range of 82-89 km, the Label offers a claimed range of 76-82 km despite having with the same 25.7 kWh battery pack.
BMW claim that the crossover can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, topping out at an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h and can be raised to 290 km/h with the optional “M Driver’s Package”. The engine is mated to a ZF sourced eight speed automatic gearbox and it sends power to all four wheels through the M xDrive all wheel drive system.
Gets unique red elements on the outside, such as the kidney grille surround, rear diffuser insert, model badges, window frame surround, shoulder line and wheel inserts. The car only comes in BMW Individual Frozen Carbon Black metallic and has 22-inch M light alloy wheels. Inside, it gets dual tone black and red seats with an all black cabin, contrasting red stitching and inserts here and there as well.
Includes the latest version of BMW’s Curved Display, which comprises a 14.9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a heads-up display, a dedicated Boost mode, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system with 20 speakers, a 1,475 W amplifier, six airbags, Active Roll Stabilisation, Dynamic Brake Control, and more; also gets ‘Adaptive M Suspension Professional’.
Compared to the standard vehicle, the Label is priced at a premium of 55 lakh and it goes up against luxury performance SUVs such as the Lamborghini Urus, Audi RSQ8, Porsche Cayenne, Land Rover Defender Octa, Aston Martin DBX and the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen.
