BMW India has started pre-launch bookings for the new BMW X6 M60i xDrive ahead of its expected launch in the coming months. The luxury coupe-SUV returns to the Indian market after its discontinuation in January 2023. BMW will bring the model to India as a completely built unit (CBU). Customers can place bookings through authorised BMW dealerships and the company’s official website. The X6 M60i combines a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology, premium features, and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Exterior Design & Styling

The X6 M60i continues BMW’s coupe-SUV design language with a sloping roofline and muscular proportions. At the front, the SUV gets a gloss-black kidney grille with vertical slats and slim LED headlamps. BMW has also added ‘snake-eye’ daytime running light signatures for a sharper appearance. Large air intakes further enhance the sporty styling. The profile includes 21-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, black-finished ORVMs, and gloss-black side skirts. At the rear, the SUV features wraparound LED tail-lamps and twin exhaust outlets integrated into the bumper.

Dimensions & Practicality

BMW has designed the X6 M60i to balance sporty styling with everyday usability. The SUV measures 4,960 MM in length, 2,004 MM in width, and 1,700 MM in height. It rides on a 2,975 MM wheelbase and offers 216 MM of ground clearance. Despite the sloping roofline, the X6 still provides 580 litres of boot space for luggage and long-distance travel needs. The wide stance and long wheelbase also improve highway stability while giving the coupe-SUV a stronger road presence in city conditions and on open roads.

Interior & Technology Features

Inside the cabin, the X6 M60i features a dual-tone interior with a layered dashboard design. BMW has equipped the SUV with a curved dual-screen setup that combines a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV also gets powered front seats with heating, ventilation, and memory functions. Other features include dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, TPMS, and a powered tailgate. The India-spec version is also expected to include an ADAS suite with several driver assistance technologies.

Engine, Gearbox & Performance

Powering the X6 M60i is BMW’s ‘S68’ 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The setup produces 523 HP and 750 NM of torque. BMW has paired the engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels through the xDrive AWD system. According to BMW, the coupe-SUV can accelerate from 0-100 KM/H in 4.3 seconds. The top speed remains electronically limited to 250 KM/H. The SUV also gets rear-wheel steering, an electronically controlled rear differential, and M Sport braking hardware.

Prices In India

BMW has not officially announced the India pricing for the X6 M60i xDrive yet. However, the luxury coupe-SUV is expected to cost around ₹1.40 crore (ex-showroom). Since BMW will import the model as a CBU unit, pricing will remain higher than locally assembled SUVs in the company’s lineup. The company has already opened bookings before launch, indicating that deliveries could begin shortly after the official price announcement. The X6 M60i will target buyers looking for a luxury SUV with V8 performance and premium technology features.

Rivals In India

In the Indian luxury performance SUV segment, the X6 M60i will compete with the Audi SQ8, Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe. These SUVs also combine high-performance petrol engines with sporty styling and modern technology features. The segment continues to attract buyers looking for luxury SUVs that offer strong straight-line performance, premium interiors, and advanced driver assistance systems for both urban driving and highway journeys.

Conclusion

The return of the X6 M60i strengthens BMW India’s performance SUV portfolio in the luxury segment. The coupe-SUV combines a twin-turbo V8 engine, mild-hybrid technology, AWD capability, and several premium comfort features. BMW has also focused on sporty exterior styling and modern cabin technology to position the model against established rivals in India. With bookings already open, the X6 M60i will target buyers looking for a luxury performance SUV that blends coupe-inspired styling with everyday practicality and strong highway performance.
