BMW M5 Facelift Spotted

55 sec read

BMW is reportedly already working on the Neue Klasse facelift for their flagship performance luxury sedan, the M5. It is set to undergo a significant transformation to align its design language with the future of the brand.

Exterior

The German brand has received criticism and backlash for the latest G90 M5’s exterior design. However, BMW is reportedly already planning a mid-cycle refresh that attempts to address the criticism, with an all-new grille. Adhering to BMW’s new Neue Klasse design language, the kidney grille has been reworked, is shorter & now integrates better with the headlights. The rear end is heavily camouflaged, but is likely to feature slim connected tail-lights and quad exhaust tips.

Interior

BMW hasn’t yet revealed the interior, but it’s fair to expect a completely redesigned cabin centered around their new Panoramic iDrive display, with their next-generation Operating System X.

BMW is likely to equip the facelifted M5 with the new steering wheel design showcased at CES 2025, and a new 17.9-inch central screen serving as the main command hub for the entire infotainment system. It will feature premium materials such as Valcona leather.

Powertrain

No changes are expected under the hood, with the facelifted M5 continuing the plug-in hybrid V8 powertrain delivering a combined 717 BHP & 1,000 NM of torque.

Rivals & Launch

The facelifted M5 is expected to go up against the Mercedes-AMG E63S e-Performance & the Audi RS6. All three German cars come with very powerful twin-turbo V8 petrol engines, all-wheel drive systems and 600+ BHP. Expect the vehicle to debut in 2027.
