BMW Group India reports that total electric vehicle deliveries have surpassed 5,000 units, marking a first in the domestic luxury segment. The company announced the milestone alongside a new high-power charging corridor spanning roughly 4,000 KM from North to South, with chargers placed about every 300 KM and open to all EV brands. Partner networks include Statiq & Zeon. BMW also states access to 6,000+ public charging points via its app, plus 300 destination chargers at hotels, resorts & malls. In H1 2025, BMW Group India reported selling 1,322 BMW & MINI EVs, with EVs accounting for 18% of its total sales. The iX1 Long Wheelbase was the top-selling EV, followed by the i7.
Models & Pricing

BMW’s current EV line-up in India includes the iX1 Long Wheelbase, i4, i5, iX & i7; MINI offers the Cooper SE. They have cars at each pricing segment, such as the iX1 at Rs 49 Lakh (ex-showroom), i4 at Rs 72.50–77.50 Lakh (ex-showroom), i5 at Rs 1.20 Cr (ex-showroom), iX at around Rs 1.40 Cr (ex-showroom), i7 at Rs 2.05–2.50 Cr (ex-showroom). The MINI Cooper SE sits near Rs 53.50–55 Lakh (ex-showroom), depending on variant & updates.
Charging Corridor

BMW’s corridor cites station capacities ranging from 120 kW up to 720 kW. Actual charging speeds will depend on your vehicle’s capability & connector availability. For example, the iX1 supports up to 130 kW DC, so higher-rated chargers will not be fully utilised by that model. BMW claims integration with live status, partner preferences & payment within the myBMW app.
Supply, Scale & Market Reality

The brand continues to lead luxury EV volumes by its own disclosure, but the base remains small relative to total premium ICE sales. The 18% EV share cited is within BMW Group India’s mix, not the wider luxury market. Infrastructure additions such as corridors, destination chargers & third-party access are a good step to improve long-distance usability.
Conclusion

Key variables include sustained supply of high-volume models like the iX1, broader CCS2 availability on the corridor, and pricing stability amid currency & component cost movements. Monitoring month-wise deliveries versus corridor expansion will indicate whether long-distance charging materially shifts EV adoption in the luxury segment.
