BMW-owned Alpina has revealed the new Vision GT concept, showcasing the future design language of upcoming Alpina models under BMW’s ownership. The concept does not preview a production-ready vehicle directly, but it highlights the direction Alpina will follow in terms of luxury, performance, and exclusivity. BMW completed the full takeover of Alpina at the beginning of 2026 after acquiring the company in 2022.
Exterior Design & Signature Styling

The Alpina Vision GT adopts a long 5.2-metre coupe body with a 2+2 seating layout. The front fascia features Alpina’s signature shark-nose design alongside a slim grille inspired by the classic BMW 507. Slim lighting elements, illuminated crystal headlamp details, and warm white daytime running lights give the concept a distinctive appearance.
The concept also retains traditional Alpina styling cues, including multi-spoke alloy wheels, quad exhaust outlets, Deco Set-inspired stripes, and a front chin spoiler with ALPINA lettering. BMW has confirmed future production models may use hand-painted stripes instead of decals.
Interior Layout & Luxury Features

Inside, the Vision GT combines dark upper surfaces with lighter lower cabin materials. Alpina has used full-grain leather upholstery along with open-pore wood and machined metal trim elements. The cabin also receives a redesigned steering wheel featuring vertical twin spokes and the updated Alpina logo.
Technology highlights include a full-width display near the windscreen, a rhomboid-shaped touchscreen infotainment system, and a dedicated passenger display similar to the updated BMW 7 Series. Rear passengers also get crystal glasses integrated into the centre console through a magnetic mounting setup.
Powertrain & Performance Details
The Vision GT concept uses a front-mounted longitudinal V8 engine. BMW and Alpina have not released full technical specifications yet. However, reports suggest future production models may use a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine without hybrid assistance.
Alpina has also confirmed that future models will continue offering the brand’s signature Comfort Plus suspension setup. The company plans to maintain a balance between high-speed touring comfort and performance-focused driving characteristics.
Future Alpina Models Under BMW
BMW has confirmed the first production Alpina model under its direct ownership will debut in 2027 based on the BMW 7 Series platform. After that, the BMW X7 will also receive Alpina treatment.
The company is reportedly positioning Alpina above standard BMW products but below Rolls-Royce models in the overall hierarchy. Annual production volumes are expected to remain limited at around 2,500 units globally.
Electric Vehicle Plans & Global Strategy
Alpina executives have also hinted at a future high-performance electric vehicle. However, the company’s current focus remains on combustion-powered luxury grand tourers. BMW believes the growing demand for premium luxury vehicles, especially in markets like China, could support Alpina’s new positioning strategy.
Reports also indicate smaller Alpina models like the B3 and B5 may not continue under the brand’s updated premium direction.
Prices In India
BMW has not announced any India launch plans for future Alpina models yet. However, if upcoming Alpina vehicles arrive in India through the completely built unit route, prices could position them above existing BMW flagship models. Future Alpina luxury sedans and SUVs may compete with ultra-premium offerings from Mercedes-Maybach and high-specification luxury performance vehicles in the Indian market.
India Relevance & Market Outlook

The Alpina Vision GT highlights BMW Group’s intention to expand into a more exclusive luxury performance segment globally. In India, demand for ultra-luxury vehicles has steadily increased over the past few years, particularly among buyers looking for chauffeur-focused luxury and high-performance touring models.
Although Alpina currently remains absent from the Indian market officially, the concept signals the possibility of more premium BMW-based products in the future.
