BMW has launched the facelifted 7 Series in India with revisions to its exterior design, cabin technology, driver assistance systems and powertrain range. The updated model is now locally produced in India, making the country the only production location for the 7 Series outside Germany. The India range comprises the 740, i7 50 xDrive and i7 M70 xDrive.

Compared with the pre-facelift model, the updated 7 Series receives revised lighting, new cabin technology, additional driver assistance features and updated electric powertrain specifications.

BMW 7 Series Exterior Design & Customisation

The facelift brings revised headlamps and tail lamps with a new lighting signature. The overall upright proportions remain unchanged, while new 22-INCH alloy wheels are available as part of the updated design.

BMW has also expanded the personalisation programme, offering around 200 exterior paint choices and more than 500 possible combinations. This allows the flagship sedan to be configured in a wider range of exterior and interior combinations than before.

BMW 7 Series Interior & Technology

The biggest changes are inside the cabin. The facelift introduces BMW’s Panoramic iDrive layout, with a cleaner dashboard and fewer conventional physical controls. A new steering wheel with vertical twin spokes is also part of the updated interior.

The cabin continues to focus on rear-seat passengers, with enhanced space and material options. Two-axle adaptive air suspension is also available, with the system adjusting the suspension response according to driving conditions.

Screens & Rear Seat Entertainment

The updated 7 Series gains a 17.9-INCH infotainment display and a 14.6-INCH passenger screen. At the rear, the 31.3-INCH Theatre Screen supports 8K streaming and remains one of the key changes to the flagship sedan’s entertainment system.

The facelift therefore places greater emphasis on digital interaction than the pre-facelift model. BMW has also introduced updated connected technology as part of the cabin package.

Audio System & Cabin Technology

An optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system is available with up to 36 speakers, including headrest-mounted units. The system supports Dolby Atmos and a 4D sound experience.

The panoramic roof incorporates 40 integrated LEDs, adding to the cabin lighting system. BMW has also introduced the BMW Excellence Club app, which provides connected services for owners.

Driver Assistance & Safety Updates

The facelift also brings changes to the driver assistance package. Hands-free motorway assistance can operate at speeds of up to 130 KM/H, while Park Assist is now offered as standard.

Automated welcome and exit functions have also been added. These systems complement the existing safety and driver assistance equipment while expanding the sedan’s automated driving and parking capabilities.

BMW 7 Series Features & Connected Technology

The facelift brings additional digital functionality to the flagship sedan. BMW has introduced the BMW Excellence Club app, adding connected services to the ownership experience.

Other available equipment includes a head-up display, digital interior rear-view mirror and updated driver assistance technology. The model also retains a strong focus on rear-seat comfort and passenger-oriented equipment.

BMW 740 Powertrain & Performance

The BMW 740 is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder inline petrol engine paired with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. It produces 400 HP and 540 NM of torque.

The petrol-powered sedan can accelerate from 0–100 KM/H in 5.4 seconds. This version provides an internal-combustion alternative within the updated 7 Series range.

BMW i7 50 xDrive Powertrain & Range

The i7 50 xDrive uses an upgraded 112.5 KWH battery and has a claimed electric range of up to 728 KM. Its electric powertrain produces 455 HP and 660 NM of torque.

The electric sedan takes 5.5 seconds to accelerate from 0–100 KM/H. The move to a larger battery also increases the claimed range compared with the previous specification.

BMW i7 M70 xDrive Performance
