BMW will launch the facelifted 7 Series and i7 in India on September 11, 2026. Bookings for both flagship sedans opened on August 1, shortly after their global debut earlier this year. The system works with a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch front passenger display. The infotainment system runs BMW Operating System X and supports over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with updated voice controls.

The updated sedans get electrically adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, massage and lumbar support. The front passenger seat can move fully forward to create additional legroom for the rear passenger.
Rear occupants get an updated 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen along with revised control panels on the rear doors. BMW has also repositioned the automatic door open and close buttons. Other cabin features include a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system and additional ambient lighting.
BMW 7 Series & i7 Powertrain Options
BMW has not yet confirmed the final India-spec variant lineup for the facelifted models. The current 7 Series is available in India with 740i petrol and 740d diesel variants, while the i7 is offered in eDrive50 and M70 xDrive versions.
Internationally, the updated 740i xDrive continues with a 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid petrol engine. It now produces 400 HP and 580 NM, which is an increase of 19 HP and 60 NM. The 740d xDrive develops 313 HP and 670 NM, with both versions using an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD.
BMW i7 Gets Larger Battery & More Power
The entry-level i7 eDrive50 has been replaced internationally by the i7 xDrive50. The updated version gets AWD and a larger 112.4kWh battery, compared with the previous 101.7kWh unit.
The i7 xDrive50 produces 455 HP and 660 NM. The range-topping i7 M70 xDrive also gets the larger battery, while its output increases from 650 HP to 680 HP. Torque rises from 1,015 NM to as much as 1,100 NM.
BMW has not yet confirmed whether the updated M70 xDrive will be introduced in India.
