Tata Motors dominated the Indian passenger vehicle market in June 2026, with the Punch and Nexon claiming the top two positions. Tata Punch Claims The Top Spot
The Tata Punch emerged as India’s bestselling car in June 2026 after selling 21,006 units. It became the only model to cross the 20,000-unit mark during the month. Maruti Dzire Drops To Third

After leading the market for several months, the Maruti Dzire slipped to third place with 17,899 units sold. Sales declined significantly compared to May due to Maruti Suzuki’s temporary production shutdown. Despite the lower monthly numbers, the compact sedan still recorded a healthy 15.60% year-on-year growth, proving its continued popularity among Indian buyers.
Wagon R & Ertiga Continue Strong Performance

The Maruti Wagon R secured fourth place with 16,952 units, supported by its practical design and fuel-efficient engines. During June, Maruti also introduced the E85-compatible Bioflex version. Meanwhile, the Maruti Ertiga remained India’s bestselling MPV with 16,111 units. Although both models saw lower monthly volumes, they continued delivering steady year-on-year growth.
Swift, Scorpio & Fronx Stay In The Top 10

Mahindra’s Scorpio lineup followed with 14,097 units, making it the only three-row SUV in the rankings. The Maruti Fronx secured eighth place despite a noticeable monthly decline. However, it remained the highest-selling Nexa model during June 2026.
