Bentley has started accepting orders for the Bentayga at significantly reduced prices in India following the implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). According to dealer sources, the luxury SUV is among the few Bentley models that qualify for an immediate reduction in import duties. However, the lower pricing will only apply to a limited number of imported units under the agreement.
India-UK FTA Brings Major Price Reduction
The India-UK FTA has reduced the import duty on British-built petrol vehicles with engines above 3,000cc from 110 percent to 30 percent. As a result, the Bentley Bentayga qualifies for a substantial price cut in India.
While Bentley India has not officially announced revised prices, dealer sources indicate that customers can already place orders at the new rates.
Bentayga Could Become Up To Rs 1.7 Crore Cheaper
Before the FTA came into effect, the Bentley Bentayga EWB carried an ex-showroom price of around Rs 5.90 crore before optional extras. Thanks to the reduced import duty, the luxury SUV is now expected to cost approximately Rs 4.20 crore.
Similarly, the standard-wheelbase Bentayga is expected to be priced at around Rs 3.75 crore, making the SUV considerably more accessible for luxury car buyers in India.

Limited Units Eligible For Lower Duty
The reduced import duty does not apply to every imported Bentley. Under the India-UK FTA, only a quota of 10,000 imported vehicles qualifies for the lower tariff.
Once this allocation is exhausted, imported vehicles will once again attract the standard 110 percent import duty. As a result, the reduced pricing on the Bentayga is expected to remain available only for a limited number of customers.
Bentayga Benefits More Than Other Bentley Models
The Bentayga EWB sold in India is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine without any hybrid assistance. This makes it eligible for the reduced import duty under the new agreement.
Other Bentley models, including the Continental GT and Flying Spur, are currently offered in India with plug-in hybrid powertrains. These models do not qualify for the tariff reduction.
Hybrid Models Miss Out
Under the terms of the India-UK FTA, British-built hybrid, electric, and hydrogen-powered vehicles are excluded from import duty benefits for the first five years.
As a result, Bentley’s plug-in hybrid models, including the Continental GT and Flying Spur, will continue to be imported under the existing duty structure during this period.
Rivals
The Bentley Bentayga competes with other ultra-luxury SUVs in India, including the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Range Rover SV, Lamborghini Urus SE, Aston Martin DBX707, and Ferrari Purosangue.
