Audi has officially revealed the interior of the upcoming Q9 flagship SUV ahead of its global debut on July 29, 2026. Positioned above the Q7, the new Q9 will become Audi’s largest and most luxurious SUV.

The full-size luxury SUV will rival models such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Audi has focused heavily on advanced technology, premium comfort and modern styling for the Q9.

Audi Q9 Interior Design & Features

The cabin of the Audi Q9 gets a futuristic design with a triple-screen layout across the dashboard. This setup includes a curved driver display, a large infotainment touchscreen and a separate passenger display.

Audi has reduced the number of physical buttons inside the cabin. However, the steering wheel still gets multiple shortcut controls and scroll wheels for easier access while driving.

Electrically Operated Doors & Smart Technology

The Q9 becomes the first Audi SUV to feature electrically operated doors for all passengers. The doors can be opened or closed using the key fob, infotainment screen, brake pedal or the myAudi mobile application.

Audi has also equipped the doors with safety sensors that prevent accidental opening in tight spaces. The system can even detect approaching vehicles or motorcycles from behind.

Premium Comfort & Seating Options

Audi will offer the Q9 in both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations. The 6-seat version comes with luxurious captain seats in the second row featuring ventilation and electric adjustment.

The front seats also receive ventilation and massage functions for improved long-distance comfort. Audi has additionally provided electrically foldable third-row seats for greater practicality and convenience.

Panoramic Sunroof & Ambient Lighting

One of the biggest highlights inside the Q9 is the large panoramic sunroof. Audi says the glass roof can switch between transparent and opaque modes across nine separate sections.

Top-spec variants also feature 84 integrated LEDs within the sunroof. These lights sync with the ambient lighting system spread across the dashboard, doors and even the seat headrests.

Audi Q9 Exterior Styling Details

The Audi Q9 gets bold exterior styling with split Matrix LED headlights and a large illuminated grille at the front. The SUV also features illuminated Audi logos and aggressive bumper detailing.

From the side, the Q9 showcases large proportions, roof rails and massive 23-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, Audi has added an LED light bar, quad exhaust tips and a prominent roof spoiler.

Audi Q9 Powertrain Expectations

Audi has not yet revealed the complete technical specifications of the Q9. However, reports suggest that the SUV will use the Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Combustion architecture.

The Q9 is expected to feature plug-in hybrid powertrains across the range. Higher variants could also receive twin-turbo petrol engines with improved performance and efficiency.

Conclusion

The upcoming Audi Q9 looks set to become one of the most advanced luxury SUVs in the segment. With premium seating layouts, modern technology and flagship comfort features, Audi aims to strengthen its position in the global luxury SUV market.

Once launched globally later this year, the Audi Q9 is expected to arrive in India as well. It will directly compete against the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover.
