Finally after the global unveil back in 2023, the face-lifted Q8 has now also been launched in India at a price of ₹1.17 crore (ex-showroom), making it ₹10 lakh more expensive than its older model.
The biggest upgrade is in the form of the new ‘HD Matrix LED‘ headlamps which incorporate a high power laser diode for the high beam and get automatically activated at speeds above 70 km/h. The LED DRLs are also now in a fresh layout and are offered with four customisable ‘light signatures’.
As for other changes, the grille now features new smaller octagonal apertures inside it and the smaller air intakes on the bumper at each side have been updated with a more streamlined design.
There is a revised rear bumper and the connected OLED tail-lamps have customizable lighting signatures just like at the front, which also automatically light up when the SUV is stationary and another vehicle approaches it within two metres .
It is available in eight exterior colours: Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, Mythos Black, Samurai Gray, Glacier White, Satellite Silver, Tamarind Brown, and Vicuna Beige.
The insides remain largely the same as compared to the previous model, with the updates being focused on new seat upholstery, stitching, dashboard, trim insters and refreshed interior colour schemes.
It retains the three digital screens; a main 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch ‘Virtual Cockpit‘ driver’s fully digital display and another touch panel below the infotainment for climate control and seat settings. Other features include a heads-up display, four-zone individual climate control, a panoramic sunroof, heated plus ventilated front seats with massage function, front-rear parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, park assist and a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The 2024 Q8 carries over the pre-facelift model’s three-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine paired to a 48V mild-hybrid system and produces 340 HP, 500 N-m of Torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via ‘Quattro‘ (AWD) and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV does 0-100 km/h in a claimed 5.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
