The Audi Q6 e-tron has been sold in European and American markets for quite some time now. The Q6 is the latest addition to the e-tron range and seems to be the most promising. Speculations suggest that Audi is set to launch the Q6 e-tron in Indian markets.
Details About The Q6 E-tron
The Q6 e-tron is a fully electric SUV. It is set to compete with the BMW iX and the Mercedes EQE. At first glance, it is great on the eyes. The Q6 e-tron looks charismatic while keeping it subtle with the design language. Interior is business as usual, it looks quite similar to modern Audis. 3 massive screens on the dash may seem a bit excessive for some but the rest of the cabin looks plush. The lack of physical buttons in the cabin could be slightly annoying for people as you would need to use the touchscreen to do basic tasks like adjusting the climate control.
A 100 kWh battery pack comes as standard, however, the power and range figures vary depending on the variant you choose. The lower variants have a claimed range of more than 613 kilometres while producing almost 400 horsepower. The sporty SQ6 E-Tron churns out more than 500 horsepower while producing a similar battery range. The range is slightly scattered across different markets. A RWD variant has been launched in the Chinese markets, while the US and UK markets are yet to get one. Audi India hasn’t disclosed the powertrain that will be launched in India, but it is improbable that we see an SQ6 E-tron on the Indian roads. Rumors suggest India will get the long-range, yet less powerful, E-tron.
If you could find a DC 270 kW EV charger, it would requires 21 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. Unfortunately, if you can’t find such a powerful charger it would take 13 hours to completely charge the battery on a 7 kW AC charging point.
Launch In India?
In the Indian market, the Q6 E-tron could be launched as a single variant. This variant would be equipped with all the bells and whistles that you would expect from a car that exceeds the 1 crore price range. It is expected to fit in the BMW iX price bracket, but we are yet to know the on-road cost.
We could see the Q6 E-tron in Indian Audi dealerships later this year or in early 2025. But the spied images suggest that the launch is imminent.
