Audi Launches A4 Signature Edition

1 min read

Audi India launched the A4 Signature Edition at ₹57.11 lakh (ex-showroom) – matching the price of the fully loaded Technology variant. Audi has given it some cosmetic upgrades: the Audi rings decal on the rear doors, dynamic hubcaps that stay upright, LED puddle lights, and a subtle boot-lip spoiler. But, these are all bolt-ons, offered through Audi Genuine Accessories, not mechanical upgrades, which makes the package feel tailored, yet optional.

Cabin Enhancements & Comfort

Inside, the A4 Signature Edition swaps standard trims for grey-oak wood inlays and stainless-steel pedal covers. It adds a fragrance dispenser, upgraded key covers, and the latest 360° Park Assist camera. It comes with Bang & Olufsen’s 19‑speaker 3D sound system, a three-zone climate control system, powered front seats with memory, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit.

The car gets interior design elements like wood oak with leather and leatherette upholstery, stainless steel pedal covers that add a sporty interior accent, a 3-spoke, flat-bottomed, sports contour leather-wrapped multi-function plus steering wheel.

Performance & Tech Staying Put

Under the bonnet, the A4 remains the familiar 2.0L turbo‑petrol TFSI motor delivering 204 BHP and 320 Nm via a 7-speed DCT and mild-hybrid tech. The car accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.1 s, with a top speed of 241 km/h. So the Signature badge adds flair, but not power or handling upgrades. Audi’s approach here describes it as an aesthetic upgrade with tech add-ons, not a performance variant.

Context & Critique

Audi pits this as a limited-edition alternative to dealer-fitted accessories. That said, buyers seeking a meaningful difference may find little beyond stylised surfaces. It’s well-packaged, yet predictable. As the A4 nears the end of its lifecycle and global shift leans toward the A5 and EVs, the Signature Edition feels like a sendoff, to the car, as we await the launch of the Audi A5 in India.
