Skoda has sold all 100 units of the new Octavia RS allocated for India even before the car’s official launch on October 17, 2025. Bookings opened on October 6 through Skoda’s official website and dealerships for a token amount of ₹2.50 lakh, and the entire batch has been sold out. Reports suggest that buyers purchased a unit every 12 seconds, highlighting the strong enthusiasm for the RS badge.
This overwhelming response mirrors the popularity of previous performance models like the Octavia RS 245, which also sold out quickly upon release. The Octavia RS is making its return to India after 5 years, positioned as a limited offering for a niche segment of buyers who appreciate performance sedans. Deliveries are scheduled to start from November 6.

What Makes The Octavia RS Special
The Octavia RS features a 2.0-litre TSI engine that produces 265 HP and 370 NM of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission, offering quick shifts. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 KMPH in 6.4 seconds, with its top speed limited at 250 KMPH, making it one of the quickest sedans in its class.
The model also features a tuned suspension, lowered ride height, and upgraded brakes for sharper handling, with a sport exhaust system as standard. It gets blacked-out elements, RS badging, and sporty 18-inch alloy wheels. It gets five exterior colour options, namely Mamba Green, Magic Black, Candy White, Race Blue, and Velvet Red.
The interior gets blacked-out styling and leather upholstery. It features a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, head-up display, 13-inch infotainment screen, 11-speaker Canton sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, heated front seats, 10 airbags, and ADAS.

Pricing & Market Position
Skoda will reveal the price of the Octavia RS on October 17, during its official launch. We expect Skoda to price it around ₹50-55 lakh (ex-showroom), similar to the VW Golf GTI.
Despite the premium pricing, the rapid sell-out shows that there is a clear appetite in India for high-performance vehicles. Potential competitors such as the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, Audi A4, and Mercedes A-Class Limousine offer similar price points. But the Octavia RS provides a unique blend of everyday usability and track-ready performance.
This reflects a growing trend among carmakers bringing global models to India, with buyers willing to spend more for them. With increasing interest in enthusiast-oriented models, carmakers are finding a receptive audience for such niche launches.

Looking Ahead: What This Means For Skoda India
The instant sell-out of the Octavia RS underscores the potential for performance cars in India, a market traditionally dominated by compact SUVs and fuel-efficient hatchbacks. Skoda is reportedly exploring the possibility of introducing more limited-run RS variants depending on customer response.
The company’s success with this model could influence future decisions around bringing performance-focused cars. For buyers who missed out, there are chances that some buyers may cancel their booking once the prices are revealed. As a result, potential buyers can wait for the price reveal.
The brand has hinted that the strong response could encourage future limited-edition launches, keeping the excitement alive.
