The all-new 2027 Hyundai Tucson has been caught testing in Europe, and spy shots have emerged online.
Design & Powertrain

Externally, the test vehicle exhibits significant design changes compared to the outgoing model, including an upright front end, a boxier profile, and larger wheel arches. There will likely be a new vertical grille and a modified bumper design. The new model features a square nose and a flat bonnet. The front fenders adopt a squared-off design, marking a clear departure from the current car’s curvier profile. Straight lines define the door frames, while the waistline rises upwards towards the rear.

Underneath the bodywork, early reports suggest that a hybrid powertrain will be offered in India, with an EV-only range of up to 100 KM. The current 2.0L petrol engine is expected to continue. There is uncertainty regarding the future of the 2.0L diesel unit, with stricter emissions norms.
Interior & Technology Upgrades
Interior changes remain largely undisclosed, but we’d likely get a new operating system (Pleos OS) and an upgraded voice assistant interface. An in-car app store and expanded ambient lighting features are also reportedly under development.

Safety updates include plans for the next Tucson to receive ADAS upgrades, including Level 2+ hands-free driving, adaptive cruise control, and improved blind spot monitoring.
Competitors & Market Position

With the upcoming generation, Tucson is positioned to compete more directly with globally established SUVs like the Volkswagen Tiguan & Jeep Compass. Hyundai’s decision to potentially retire the diesel variant will leave Jeep with a monopoly in the premium diesel crossover market.
Launch Timeline & Pricing
The car is expected to launch in India during the second half of 2027. Initial pricing is expected to start at approximately Rs 30 Lakh (ex-showroom) and extend beyond Rs 40 Lakh for higher specifications. It gets new exterior changes, hybrid-focused powertrains, updated connectivity options, and expanded safety systems.
