Renault has released fresh teaser visuals of the upcoming 2026 Renault Duster ahead of its scheduled debut on January 26, 2026. The short clip confirms that the India-spec model will differ visually from the global Duster sold overseas. While the SUV remains mostly covered, the lighting signatures stand out clearly. The teaser shows eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps positioned above the headlamps,a departure from the Y-shaped LED DRLs and tail-lamp signatures seen on the international version This points to Renault’s intent to give the Indian Duster a more distinctive face while retaining the familiar silhouette that made the original model popular.
Exterior Tweaks Borrow Familiarity With A Modern Touch
The rear design appears to be the biggest visual change for the India-bound Duster. The teaser reveals a horizontal LED light bar visually connecting the tail lamps, a treatment that differs from the standalone Y-shaped units on the global Duster. This design element aligns with current styling trends in the midsize SUV segment. Other visible details include a rear wiper and the updated Renault diamond logo, which recently debuted on models like the Triber and Kiger. While the core body panels are expected to remain unchanged, reports suggest India-specific alloy wheel designs and subtle trim changes could further differentiate this version from its international version.
Cabin & Features Likely To Match Global Standards
Although Renault has not revealed the interior yet, expectations are clear based on the global-spec Duster. The India-spec model is likely to carry over a 7-inch digital driver display and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A wireless phone charger and panoramic sunroof might also be available on higher trims. On the safety front, the SUV could offer six airbags as standard. Other features such as a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and tyre pressure monitoring might also be offered. Renault may also add soft-touch materials at key touchpoints to improve cabin quality.
Powertrain Plans & Market Positioning
At launch, Renault is likely to offer the new Duster with petrol-only powertrains. This could include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine making around 150–156 HP, similar to the global model. It might be available with manual and automatic gearbox options. A lower-capacity 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine may serve entry-level variants with a slight power bump over the Kiger. Importantly, Renault has confirmed that a strong-hybrid version is in the pipeline, likely to arrive around a year after launch. Internationally, the Duster uses a 149 HP 1.6-litre strong-hybrid setup. For India, prices might fall between ₹10 lakh and ₹20 lakh, placing the Duster in the midsize-SUV segment. It will rival models such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate.
