Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition in India, further strengthening the appeal of its popular full-size SUV. The new edition brings refreshed styling elements and additional features while retaining the mechanical setup of the standard Fortuner. Bookings for the model will open in the second week of October, with deliveries expected to begin later this month. The Leader Edition has been introduced in both 4×2 diesel manual and automatic variants.

Styling Details

The Fortuner Leader Edition differentiates itself from the standard model with several subtle exterior enhancements. Toyota has given the SUV a new blacked out front grille with chrome trim around it, revised front and rear bumpers, and matte-black 18-inch alloy wheels. It is available in four exterior colour options, namely Attitude Black, Pearl White, Silver Metallic, and Super White, all with a black contrasting roof. Inside, the Leader Edition retains the Fortuner’s cabin layout while gaining a few modern touches. Toyota has added auto-folding ORVMs, illuminated scuff plates, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It gets a new interior colour scheme, with black and maroon finish for the seats and door liners. The dashboard design and upholstery remain largely unchanged. The SUV continues to offer features such as dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, ventilated seats, and a 6-speaker audio setup.

Powertrain & Mechanical Setup

The 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition continues with the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 204 HP and 500 NM of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed TC automatic gearbox. It is available only in the diesel 4×2 variants. The SUV’s ladder-frame construction and rear-wheel-drive configuration remain unchanged. Toyota’s focus with this edition is clearly on cosmetic and comfort upgrades rather than mechanical revisions. The Fortuner continues to be offered in multiple trims, with the Leader Edition sitting between the standard diesel variants and the top-end Legender in the lineup.

Conclusion

The Fortuner Leader Edition aims to attract customers who prefer the Fortuner’s reliability but want a more distinctive and stylish package. It is essentially a dealer-level fitment, and Toyota has not revealed the prices for the same. With its styling appeal, the Leader Edition could also help Toyota sustain buyer interest ahead of the next-generation Fortuner. By enhancing visual flair and adding new features without changing the mechanical setup, Toyota has positioned the Leader Edition as a well-balanced offering that builds upon the SUV’s long-standing reputation for toughness and dependability.
