The next-gen Citroen C5 Aircross was previewed in concept form in October 2024, and now, design patent images have been leaked, showing the production car’s design. The new car will be underpinned by the Stellantis STLA Medium Platform. The design patent leaks show that the design has not changed much from the concept version.

The new C5 is expected to take design cues from the Citroen Oli concept that was shown in 2022. The new model will be larger than the outgoing model, with a focus on more interior space. The new C5 is expected to come with electric and hybrid engine options.

2025 Citroen C5 Aircross Exterior Design

The new C5 looks like an evolution of the model that is on sale right now. The design draws some inspiration and cues from the Oli concept. The design has a blend of sharp lines and smooth curves. The three-piece C-shaped LED along with the sleek LED headlamp unit has been retained from the concept. The bumper gets a 2 tone finish with an air intake below.

The flush door handles in the concept have now been replaced with regular pull-type door handles. There is also a prominent plastic cladding over the wheel arches and the alloys have been toned down a little,  featuring a petal-like design. A floating effect is observed due to the detailing on the D pillar, which also gives a muscular look to the shoulder line.

Coming to the rear, the C-shaped design theme continues here as well, with the tail lamps getting connected light treatment and the rear bumper additionally getting a two-tone treatment.

2025 Citroen C5 Aircross Powertrain Details

The C5 will be the first model to be based on the STLA Medium Platform, and hence it is expected that the car will be available with a choice of a hybrid or electric powertrain. The current model, in India is offered with a sole 2-liter diesel engine paired to an automatic gearbox.

The new C5 Aircross will be unveiled officially later this year. The current model is imported via CKD and assembled here, but at this moment it is not clear if Citroen will be offering this model in India or not.
